They are the only organisation dedicated to archiving our rich history. Be a bit more patriotic my friends. It's part of being British!
The BBC praised "Black Boleyn", made Sir Isaac Newton black, and were eager to get Idris Elba to play Winston Churchill, after telling the actor Luthor wasn't "black enough" because he doesn't eat jerk chicken, play basketball and doesn't have a lot of black friends by the BBC Diversity Chief herself. Also, the BBC have been promoting medieval Britain, and even Celtic Britain as being multicultural. Not very accurate to British history and culture at all.

That's right. At a friend's house the other day at the end of a show, they literally plugged and advertized 5 other tv shows coming on soon. I was starting to wonder when the actual following show was going to come on. Surely that's advertizing. They never used to do that years ago.
It really boils my piss how the BBC can make billions commercially under the BBC name and yet the TV licence hasn't been abolished. People are getting doorstep challenged, taken to court and fined which is completely unnecessary. The BBC cannot have it both ways. Either they go commercial or they get funded by licence fee money. £159 is a lot of money to most people. They'd rather use that for food or the utility bill instead.
Unfortunately no government would be willing to desist with the licence fee. The only way to make it happen is for us the consumer to refuse to pay. If enough do it then it would become impossible for them to enforce.
I got 1 of they letters with the long window on the envelope asking if I will be in on the 29th March well no I won't I will be out buying a new bigger tv 😂
Could this be because they know that they will soon lose the licence tax and dipping their toes into advertising as they will have to when the licence tax goes. It's called competition
The worry is the BBC may know that they are likely to be funded out of general taxation, which would be even worse than the current system. If a Labour government is elected, this would be even more likely. Re advertising, the BBC, for reasons I do not understand, still command a high proportion of the UK TV watching audience. Advertisers seek to get their messages across to the largest number of people they can. They will, therefore, switch at least some of their advertising from where they currently advertise to the BBC so, Mr. Meredith is quite correct when he says this will "wreak havoc" upon existing commercial channels. This really is a no brainer and that Spanish beer must be good stuff! No need to worry, though, because no government would ever allow the BBC to show adverts.
They won’t lose anything, they will inflict it as a tax on every mobile user or broadband owner, people that think the government is on our side are dreaming.
Cancel your licence, fill in the online form to say you don't use their services, and you can be refunded. Back date it to when you were forced into paying. It's perfectly legal if you're not using its services.
I couldn't care less whether the BBC puts adverts on or charges a subscription or both, because there's nothing on their channels that interests me in the slightest. What really boils my p**s is that they charge to watch every other channel, too. The only way out is to watch on demand stuff or streaming programs. Which is fine for me, because I only use Netflix and RUclips, although RUclips's ads are the pits.
Well I'm in the minority of not wanting or needing a licence. I did it 5 years ago for 2 years, as the was absolute drivel being repeated about 30 times a year between most channels. I bought a years worth in 2021, thinking something new and good might have been made, but there was almost nothing! So no licence since 2022 and no plans to buy one again!
I truly hope the BBC licensing model does not change, that way I do not have to pay a penny to the BBC. If it changes? Nobody will be able to opt out. Wake up people, leave it be. That way, those that want to pay, can, those that don't want to pay, don't have to. Xx
Anyone else remember at the end of many a BBC programme, the BBC advertising a "book" usually scripts of the series ("One Foot In The Grave" for a prime example) after the end of that particular episode. That's just ONE example. There have been MANY others.
I'm happy that the BBC charge a fee as I don't watch or record live TV as the alternative is most likely to be a media tax that we all pay if we watch it or not.
A lot of the BBC is being amalgamated into BBC Studios which is concerning for a TV Licence payer because it presents more of the question of where our money is being spent and on whom. BBC Studios has dominated the production arm of the BBC, took control over the majority of staff salaries and is responsible for many recent aquisitions e.g. Britbox International. As BBC Studios (a subsidary of the BBC) continues to make money, the parent company whom the licence fee payer pays into is forever loosing money with services to local TV being cut as a result and yet we're being asked to fork out more money to fund it. Where's the logic to all this?
My license is terminated now, I've cut off the aerial and bought a giant return envelope for all the letterbox threats. I've started to realise that I could easily live without live TV, I pay for Netflix, YT premium and Disney plus. Over the last 12 months my dog has watched more live tv than i have. Recently i have found that its easier for me to leave a playlist of Peter Rabbit running on RUclips for my dog while pop out, or a snooker game (which for some reason he is mesmerized by), and avoid having to look for a channel that isn't going to ahow something that he will bark or howl at. Hope your uncle gets sorted pal, thanks for the advice and giving me the confidence to flip a v at the BBC.
The change to the TV Tax will be a compulsory levy on broadband to make sure the BBC get their £3.7 BILLION or more a year with no chance for people to refuse to pay up.
This is a good one. A house I lived at 5 years ago has just had a goon and the Police turn up with a warrant in my name that stated I have been watching BBC IPlayer 😮Funny thing is I have never watched IPlayer and did have a licence at that address, however, moved out 5 years ago and have been legally licence free ever since. I know the person who bought the house so hence how I got to know. He told the goon to shove his warrant where the sun doesn’t shine. Always a man of words my friend. Brilliant investigation by the goon squad once again.
Had an Email recently from TV Licensing, stating that my address has been using BBC iplayer( though we haven't). Is this just a new scare tactic? Have any of you been getting the same Emails?
I live in Australia and subscribe to Britbox. Britbox shows programs and films from both BBC and ITV and is commercial free. This costs me the equivalent of about five quid a month. Admittedly a lot of the shows are fairly old like Red Dwarf and Only Fools and horses, but these are classics that I love to watch over again. Unlike the BBC rip off one hundred and sixty quid annual fee in the UK, Britbox, at AU$9 is not bad value.
Well I've been asked again if I'll be in on a certain date. They never turn up though. The letter states 5000 visits per day. Hi Jon, enough is enough and the time has come for me to cancel my tv licence, i have discussed with my wife and she agrees we cannot give them anymore money for the junk they produce, the price increase is the final nail in the coffin, another case of shrinkflation paying more for less, i have about 5 months left on my sky subscription before i can cancel it, i assume it's not illegal to have a sky subscription and cancel my licence ? as long as i don't watch it obviously ! i currently use the sky box to access apps like prime, netflix etc, gonna be watching your videos on how to cancel next 😀 keep up the great work and enjoy the rest of your holiday
Simon you are ok to cancel now even if you have sky. Remember it is not the equipment it's what you watch! I used my sky to access catch up and on demand etc I have a smart TV now so use the apps etc. just remember when you cancel you will still get threatogram letters and possibly goon visits, no joke train your family to open the door say who are you... TV licencing and get them to say no thanks and then shut the door, don't sign anything don't answer questions don't let them in. At the door is where people fail even if being legal they answer questions incorrectly then comes the summons. Say no thanks shut door feels weird but feels good afterwards 😊
@@laceandwhisky thank you so much for the advise, i'm going to cancel later it's unbelievable how their aloud to get away with such intimidating behaviour, i'll let them know i no longer require their services just to keep them off my back as much as possible 😀i get a lot of sales people knocking so turning away one more aint going to be a problem, is it still a thing they can get a warrant to access your property ?

U can write to tvl and request they do not call as a cold caller called revoking access but the message doesn't always get through to the goon. Locking the gate to the path of the property is a good one but then you become your own prison. I got three visits and never seen them again think they go for easier targets since they earn commission.😁 most the court cases are people who answer questions and slip up and some who just get court summons just don't bother attending the court and plead guilty by post. The TVL will try their utmost especially with the new letters coming out stating you have used BBC iPlayer in hope you'll panic and buy a license. I got one recently never even opened iPlayer and been told you have to log in / register 😂 have fun, watch chillijoncarne on you tube he covers it all and very helpful
You raise good points but you have a few things wrong here. If the BBC had ads it would be taking those advertisers from other areas of the market place, which would affect those other commercial channels. Revenue from ads is, I understand, dropping. I think there was something else but I've finished my eggs and have to get ready for work. Not bought a TV licence for 15yrs
You'll be surprised at how many people think that there's not enough adverts to put them on BBC as well. And how many times have you turned over, just to see the same advert on a different channel?
When i first stopped paying the tv licence fee and started to receive threat letters from capita people would tell me to just pay it to get them off my back but i stood my ground after doing a bit of research and watching channels like this one. Had a few goon visits where they tried to find out who i am and i asked them to first identify themselves. As soon as i realised that they were tv licence sales people i closed my door and went about my business.
I read a piece the other day that said bbc radiochanels will be airing ads. Unfortunately i didnt think to save the link. I do hope you uncle gets what he needs for a good recovery, or at least to be made comfortable.send8ng healing thoughts to you all 💚🙏
Maybe it's an age thing. If British Leyland could sell cars commercially; or if British Steel were allowed to sell steel products commercially... then why is it a surprise to anyone that the BBC is allowed to have a commercial arm?
Why are they doing ten minute film promotions 'live from the red carpet', complete with film clips, interviews with the actors, producers and directors and presenting them as 'news' items within their news coverage? Is someone paying them for this?
I would like you to do a video also on the other streaming companies that are charging a premium like netflix but showing a lot of BBC and itv stuff, how is that possible? I have heard somewhere that the u.s netflix has a lot more content than the version we have over here, I think an in-depth video on the other streaming companies would be quite interesting to watch, love the channel, very informative.
They're just taking the mickey and laughing themselves silly, they have best of both worlds. If anyone complains then they just run and hide behind the governments skirts.
Don't have anything to do with bbc sodcasts !! They won't start showing ads Jon because they know they wouldn't be able to justify the licence fee !! Hope your uncle feels better very very soon !!
With all the letters I ignore, I have not had a visit from the goons, however I've recently received a text message asking me to rate their goons 1-5. Ps I've not had licence for over 10 years.

This is the point where the process of unpicking and revoking the BBC's status begins, so perhaps we can be grateful to them.
@@simon7288 warrants a very few and far between usually around six a year, evidence has to be submitted for example while stood at the door their chest video captures sound of EastEnders blasting away and it is on at the same time as the visit or they can see the TV on alive broadcast from the door, seeing it from the window is inadmissable as evidence through privacy laws, or if a member of the household openly admits to watching and then shuts the door type thing.
I also can’t understand why RUclips subscriptions are so expensive per month I don’t agree paying it does the bbc have input in RUclips? 🤔
I read a piece the other day that said bbc radiochanels will be airing ads. Unfortunately i didnt think to save the link.
Aw i 7nderstand that horrible hospital waiting around... just done one and a half weeks of sitting with my daughter in critical care.she is better and at home now. I do hope you uncle gets what he needs for a good recovery, or at least to be made comfortable.send8ng healing thoughts to you all
💚🙏
The channel Yesterday is also a part of UKTV, I believe there are other channel's owned by UKTV/BBC.
I also hope that your uncle has speedy recovery 🙏
Somehow I cannot see the commercial channel advertising via the BBC if they change over to funding via Commercials. Tony in Essex
Can’t see ya
Hi Jon always good to see you 😜
They don't pay them my licence fee. 😊
ChilliJonCarne Says, Mr BBC, You can't have your cake and eat it too. BBC says watch us you suckers 🤣
Cannot believe you are sat in front of some stone effect wallpaper that i purchased from now defunct Wilco to do out my hobby room :-)
All these external revenue streams would be acceptable if the licence fee is scrapped in 1-3 years.
When will the Government stop protecting the BBC John? Do you think ther is a chance when Stammer becomes Prime Minister 🤔
i can get Victoria Malaga Lager Beer in Salisbury in the uk
Don't have anything to do with bbc sodcasts !! They won't start showing ads Jon because they know they wouldn't be able to justify the licence fee !! Hope your uncle feels better very very soon !!
With all the letters I ignore, I have not had a visit from the goons, however I've recently received a text message asking me to rate their goons 1-5. Ps I've not had licence for over 10 years.
TV license fee should be doubled more dosh for doctor who and motd
why is the bbc putting adverts on you tube
Im coming to Torro in a couple of weeks, what british bar were you in
So meesta bond , there appears to be an even easier way of getting oven ready cash, other than arguing the toss with you over a few bars of gold... cheerio ,my friend 007...
Do BBC Studios pay the market rate for showing TV Taxpayer funded BBC shows?
What do BBC Studios pay their CEO/Managers, etc.
Unless itis device i am watching this on having problem, this video Looks very dark
I never watch TV crap
Bbc put ads on here
dave only show 2 to 3 episodes of top gear a day you know
Who’s the head of the BBC- Peter Ian Staker??😂
We pay a tax and it goes to the boys club, well not so much the boys club any more, EH
Another reason to lose the mainstream political parties who will never give up on the bbc no matter what there voters think especially the bbcs mates in the labour party
MI5 used to have an office at the BBC.
Then look what they did to Radio Caroline, and how they attack GBNews.
Radio and TV in England is screwed down tighter than Sunak's wallet.
No need topay
Chilli jon beeeeer
