Thanks a lot Dave. I spent the whole video watching the sea to make sure a rogue wave wasnt coming to sweep you away. 🙃. Can't wait for 42 to show up in my mailbox! ✌️🇨🇦
I cannot tell you how much I look forward to your musings, anecdotes and bird discussions! I’m a total and grey haired Grateful Dead fan but I stumbled upon this by accident and now I am hooked. Blessings and best wishes!
Wow!!! 1. Incredible difference in the video quality. 2. I appreciate the gulls lessons I love to learn wildlife: that wasn’t an Eagle, it was a jet stream 3. Get some new shoes 4. Keith and Donna house payment, I didn’t know about that generosity! 5. I can’t wait to get this disc. 6. Please release Dave’s Picks Vol. 2 on Vinyl!!!!
At around 7minutes I started really hoping that the oil tanker way in the background would keep slowly stretching and stretching out to the far right of the screen until it was about 1/2 mile long
Saw HC Sunshine live in 92. Was a little choppy when they kicked it off I always felt. Curious to hear how they did it in 74 and looking forward to my order arriving. Thanks Dave and the people who set you up with the new flippy thing...sounds great! 😊🎸⚡🎶✌🏻
Yeah these are classic shows including the Cow Palace a month later, but I have to say the "Baby Blue" version is so on point and the factor the matter you don't hear of or see many of any in this period of time, and of course the "Dark Star". But each show is beyond special and anyone, including the MC(vault.master) would love to have had a chance to attend any of these concerts or any GD or JGB concerts during this time period ('69 - '80). The creme de la creme. No winners no losers - all historic. Thanks for keeping the flame alive, Dave.
Dave, Give us one good reason why you guys don't make enough of these sets so they don't sell out in 5 minutes and then cost $500 on Ebay/Amazon the next morning? One....BIRDS! SQUIRREL! Focus Dave, focus! Edit these videos...like your CD's.
Any chance there ever will be a release of that jam with Jerry Garcia that was Reconstruction I think? I used to have that tape and it was so great. I remember particularly liking the version of What You Won’t Do For Love. I’m not sure if there were several times that was played but I just looked it up and it might be this one from Palo Alto. 7-8-79. Of course that’s probably going to come under the Garcia volumes that maybe you have some inside information or can have some leverage to get that out somehow. Thanks!💀
Nice chat. Dave started a story before The Eagle sighting wanted to hear the rest. Is 2/22 in the vault or just partial? Definitely the night after is a top 5 show so looking forward to this
Sounds like a goodie, Dave! (BTW, I keep waiting for you guys to release something from the 12/71 run at the Felt Forum in NYC...particularly the 12/4/71 show, my first Dead concert. Any chance of THAT happening?)
Why don't you ask why they stop playin a song? I would if I was you.and Some of the music was moved to make the disc flow dif than the actual show??? I hope I misunderstood you.
Death, taxes, Dave being distracted by birds
Birds are awesome
King of the tangents
"Large eagle flies away with distracted guy on slippery rocks"
@@sunoclockoneday2576 agreed
@@namcat53 Dave himself delivered by a large bird for this next release

Slippery rocks, whoa!
these vids could be 4-6 mins but wind up being 18, its hilarious
Imagine a ping pong ball inside a blender on 10.
I find it helps to watch them at 1.25x or 1.5x speed.
@@artcohen2254 I turn the bird filter on.
Camera worked cuz this one sounds much better! Can’t wait for the white square package in my mailbox soon! Thanks Dave
The flippy thing?
Winterland was an outstanding Dead venue.
My first time seeing the Dead at Winterland.
Was about 15’ from the stage.
Can never have enough 74.

EAGLE!!!
Loved the eagle!
I have seen Dave for the first time. It is nice.
Happy holiday all!
It worked!
The film archivist calls the screen/large viewfinder on a camera the “flippy thing”. 😂
He’s starting to sound like my dad. Soon he will be telling us that it “records everything he’s saying and it will play it back the same way” 😂😂
well it does flip & is a thing. checkmate!
It's a NASA technical term.
I believe it is a “tippy thing”. Not to get technical.
@@dpall38 I believe Garcia played a stringy thing.
Winterland sounds cool and all but I wish I knew more about this camera situation
EAGLE!
anyone else at the phx show in '92 when they busted out 'HCS" ? great times..thx Dave

Hey Dave. What's the new camera?
The horizon is tilting a bit. Might want to see if there's a onscreen level for that sort of thing.
No skeleton people in the cover art, I love it
