I love how the words persona shadow and ego easily have such a negative stigma but the positive side is highlighted in Mots era.
Right? It's nice cause they're teaching us that these are all things we should accept and have to balance in order to find our complete self.
@@xCeleste YES!. It's crazy too, I feel like growing up we are taught how to treat others. But no one teaches us how to treat ourselves. We have to figure that part out on our own.

Ppl like this don't know how to think bcos they don't know their own self. BTS is teaching us in an entertaining way 😊

I think "Hopes Record" refers to the record of his life as told through the music he's released, both alone and with the group.
If BTS stole every award in 2019 for a 7 track album.... and we're getting a full album and potentially another mini + two mix tapes.... isn't 2020 already theirs? xD
Hoping for a lot more BU story this year... specifically I'm hoping they go back and clearly address the alternate timeline and memory situation.. I hope that isn't just left unfinished for the K-drama to conclude.

On genius it says that the firsz line: we are now going to progress... Is originally a sample from a song also called map of the soul from like 2003. And they used this line in their debut trailer, so was all of this planed from debut or retroactively finished? The sample is from epic highs debut album map of the human soul :o
This is what Bookish Theories says. That it has been planned from before the beginning for BTS.

I think it's not for the process of BTS they used the fragments from the past which is there debut to connect here in the present. They did not planed this. They just came up with the ideas to kind of make it bigger when BTS is going bigger as well
@@cyhri2567 so the fact the sample they had used for the debut trailer was from an intro to Epik High's 1st album called "Map of the Human Soul" has no connection to that sample being used again in their own era of Map of the Soul? The way they timed it out going back in time by album so Persona used a sample from School Luv Affair and Shadow using sample from ORUL82? and now Ego using sample from debut trailer. It couldn't be coincidence and we know with BigHit, it never is. Just surprising they had it all planned out from before the debut of BTS even.

- an army noticed when hobi passes in the background you see a building that there is a room on fire (yoongi in i need u) and another next to it with a light like purple is jin (i need u too) pd: when hobi is inside js Taylor doesn't remind them of magic shop (concept photos, vcr ect)
Oh yeah! I just started reading people's comments on that and it could be a fire linked to Yoongi.
As far as the Tailor place, I love how theres so many references esp the Magic Shop. I should've mentioned their Magic Shop as well lol I need to go back to their fanmeet VCRs when they showed the inside of the Magic Shop. Maybe we'll catch something new
Your brain o_o amazing! Did you notice Yoongi in his shadow outfit on one of the billboards in the last scene of ego though? I'm curious if this also has a meaning, maybe that the shadow is always here and now he's accepted him and is presenting him to the world.. also, the suit Hobi is wearing in the Kingsman set, reminds me of the shattering glass in Shadow, so he's literally wearing his shadow on his sleeves now, he really accepted himself fully... crazy how much there is hidden for us to find out

in the part where j hope was in the maze, you can see the word "길로" which means "way/path" soooo maybeeee??
After all this one thing is clear bang shi huynk planned everything before their debut.
J-Hope’s suit when he’s in the tailor’s looks like the glass shards from Shadow when the mic went through the glass
Also, when Hobi is dancing in the literal spotlight, he has shadows. But of course they follow him, not trying to overcome him or take over control. **I think part of this is because he’s close to his shadow, it’s not far away. It’s not trying to control him, because he is not trying to control (force) it. Keeping the shadow close means that it is less nebulous and has defined edges/borders. Kinda “know thine enemy” approach. However boundaries and awareness of them is essential for relationships - with the shadow, ego, etc. as well as with others. Again a part of the person that needs to be defined/developed before relating to others. Also, while he is on a stage like SUGA, he’s viewed at ground level. He hasn’t climbed so high to fall, he doesn’t have shadows underneath to drag him under into the Sea. I think he’s at that camera level the entire time until the end which you could argue he IS still like that, but he is on top of a car, so...
Just a couple thoughts to add. Hope I didn’t forget anything in my explanation!

We also saw the god theme at MMA 2019, where each member represented a god in his solo: Jimin was Artemis, Joon was Dionysus, Jin was Aries, Tae was Apollo, Kook was Poseiden, Yoongi was Hades, and Hobi was Zeus. The image of him as Jupiter/Zeus could be referencing that
i think hope records hopes record means jhope is recording his musical records, like he is his own competition... idk just a theory

ONE MORE THEORY!
to me, the "we are now going to progress [...]" part is SO interesting because it first appear on their debut trailer, right? so the "difficult part" was the unknown ahead of them. were they gonna succeed? were they gonna fail? so now (2020), the same part can be interpreted as some kind of warning for us, army, as they prepare for break/military service because is gonna be difficult but we'll manage to get through it. and since Ego is an Outro for the album, this is most likely the last song of the last album before break (my guess, of course). so it's kinda like "we're approaching the inevitable, it's going to be hard, but it's going to be okay too. don't worry!".
so, to me it sounded like mix between a farewell (for now), a hidden message for us and a full circle moment in their careers because they did succeed, they did not fail. if you really think about it, this song has such a positive message behind it, an amazing vibe to it and all these references in the music video, that it ends up being the PERFECT song to close the map of the soul era and set up the next one (where we're a bit more grown up, self-aware, embracing light and dark, continuously learning/evolving and having more of a positive attitude towards life).

Im a new army and I'm trying to understand all this theories. I started to watch the first video that uploaded and continuing the second part of the video( i forgot the title, sorry) and then i came to watch this video and all i can say is " Damn!". I'm so surprise knowing all this theories and my brain is exploding coz i kept on thinking and puzzled in my mind but yeah little by little i understand all this theory and i am absolutely impress. So at the end when he says " I found myself" he was talking about the Principal of Individuation through the ego( through embracing the shadows/his past since he can not change it even if he tries to, which is probably why he talks about accepting his fate) and the emergence of the Self.

about 1:24 i think the 1 and 24 are supposed to be seen separately:
1 meaning: if 1 is your angel number, it means that you are a workaholic person, so your satisfaction comes mostly from your work.
24 meaning: the number 24 symbolises home, health, healing, security, love, beauty, comfort, relationships, teamwork, romance, diplomacy, harmony, family and companionship.
so it could mean he's moved from being a uncaring workaholic to going on to heal, love, feel secure, appreciate beauty, home, comfort, teamwork (bts?), family and companionship.

When looking at the video calmly (after 100 times hype-mode haha) I found out that at the end, when he is on the highway, he is actually driving away from the path to "future" "way to myself" "future dreams" and according to the signs on the road this is a "one way only" path. so when he comes back out of the dream world he looks scared of the world around him saying *almost forgotten memories return, a touch of the devil, fateful recall*
the next thing he says is *I still wonder why did they beckon again*
beckon: make a gesture with the hand, arm, or head to encourage someone to come nearer or follow.
what if he's saying like "I have no real illness they know this...why are they helping me?" or when he decided to become an idol j-hope called to him and told him to try it for free you'll like it and he decided to do it and j-hope attached himself to hoseok and ate off of him until Hoseok was no more.
after he says that he says *every day ask me, guess it, whip it, repeat* saying like I'm always in and out of hospitals
after that he says 'nothing that will change, I lock it up again, close *like how he was locked in a room in MAMA so that's why he's always in his dream world.
the next lyrics say *How much love? how much joy? soothe myself and stay calm, alone* the next scene is him in the car.
soothe: gently calm (a person or their feelings)
after the car, it's him dancing in different backdrops one is stars like in serendipity and in DNA
*Serendipity: the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way*
and the circle was dancing in looks like the moon from serendipity or the ball which appeared in serendipity and in blood, sweat, and tears.
when he says *that way, way, way* maybe meaning "everyone's telling me to go into the future and look ahead"
but then he says *where ever my way* saying "ill go where I want"
A little later he says *life of not j-hope but Jung hoseok flashes by* maybe he's saying "I can never get back to that life"
*it must have been full of regret with no hope till I die* I'm thinking what if this j-hope is taking over Jung Hoseok and speaking for him in a way, so when he's reminiscing J-hope takes over and speaks for him
*my dance was chasing dreams, blaming my dream for why I live and breath* was J-Hope speaking then cuts to "oh my god repeated"
*only one hope only one soul. only one smile only one you* like in shadow suga says something like * I am you, you are me. we are one, sometimes we may clash* its like there persona what they aspire to be is taking over their bodies
*Persona: the aspect of someone's character that is presented to or perceived by others.*
in the MV as he's walking the shop says "established in 1994" and the last window says "made to reassure".
now as he walks into the moving wall thing there are those read things what if they're like the ones you saw in idol but those were green. what if that is saying he's going the wrong way and in idol, those are saying they're going the right way?
the map he's running into is similar to the one in young forever but that maze in young forever is the map of the soul and near the end, he said something about reassurance like the window said the suit would do.
you ear a female voice in persona similar to the one in ego but instead of at the beginning it's at the end.
close at the end, the room he walked into with the glowy things turned green like in idol.
at the end, he just stares at the camera.

Hi Rosean, I always love your explanation vids - only been Army since last summer, so have really relied on them to try & get up to speed on the BU! (I haven't watched any TXT vids yet tho - aargh!) Just wondered what you thought of why, when the whole song has been upbeat & bright, when Hobi's sitting on the car he's suddenly very serious and his face is half in shadow & half in light? Does that mean despite the lyrics, his journey to self isn't over? I'm also expecting MOTS: Self before Jin goes, but maybe that's wishful thinking? Looking forward to your next one when the lead single & Come Prima film drops!! (or will there be clues in the concept photos next week?!) x

I was looking at all the signboards while jhope sitting looking serious then i've noticed there's a picture at the billboard but you can't see clearly unless stop at that moment. The picture of someone's face that looked like yoongi in shadow. Mayb i'm wrong.
