I was astounded when I saw them in the film "one in a million" and wrote the name down. I'm sure glad I did! They don't teach them these things any more and we are the worse for it. Just realky great musicians ant entertainers. I thank God for their talent and being able to hear it!
I met Johnny back in '67 when the rascals were playing in Boston. My Dad knew Dave Doucette the chord player and arranger who got me Johnny's autograph. I also rememeber watching them on the Ed Sullivan Show, All the greats started with Minnevitch . Dave Docette wrote an arrangement for Tiger Rag for my dad from his head on a napkin, incredible. thanks for posting.
Thanks for jogging my memory, also check out the Philharmonicas from movies they were in in the 30s including vita phone shorts, borrah is an amazing conductor! Nothing like this kind of music anymore, what has become of the world
I'm sure glad to see this video back! Got the blues when it was removed some time ago. Great entertainment all the way around-- these guys could really play.
@bloodybirds You must be very proud!!..........This is absolutely brilliant, I've never heard of this bloke before or his rascals, I came across this video by chance. My lucky day I guess, but it does make me wonder when I listen to todays music I ask meself where the heck did it all go wrong?.........Great posting this I luv it......xx
I know ... he's so animated and I love the way all the guys watch him and never take their eyes off of him - it's addicting or should I say, he's addicting - more than 130 times for me and I'm not kidding - I just loop it - love it !!!!!
I was actually watching the rock group "Rascals" videos and found out about the name dispute, and just had to to check out these guys. No real comparison, but they are good.
Pretty sure that's the great Chicago musician/comic Kenny Milton (the tall thin guy giving Johnny Puleo a hard time in the beginning) ...can anyone confirm that? Kenny was also in a few minor roles in Three Stooges shorts...
Can anyone identify Louis Feldman for me. I had a grandfather named Louis Feldman who appeared in silent westerns and I see a "Louis Feldman" mentioned as appearing in this movie. Thank you. Mark Feldman
Wat fijn dat mondmuziek om ernaar te luisteren gr Lies

I think that this band was the best of all of the harmonica bands.
I have to watch this at least once every week. This version of Limehouse Blues is the all-time best!
This takes me back. The Ed Sullivan Show, with my Mom, Dad and Brother.
These guys were fantastic. It's a damn shame their recordings have been commercially unavailable for years.
The cover of Embraceable you is the best . Cheers me up everytime !
wonderful what a joy to watch
These guys were hot back then......thanks for the posting...

Endlich wieder da! Herrliche Melodie!
Amazing film... the routines in this film lasted for more than 20 more years! Great to see Johnny Puleo in this early film.
I'm sure glad to see this video back! Got the blues when it was removed some time ago. Great entertainment all the way around-- these guys could really play.
This is brilliant. Thanks for posting it. The choreography of violence alone is amazing, as is the music.
Inspired clowning and solid music making. That was Borrah Minevitch's formula for succes, and he never let his audience down.
Really like what that bass player could do. Superb.
Excelente! Humor, música, condução. Parabéns pela postagem.
I just found my Grampa's harmonica with Borrah's name on it, so I looked it up. Thank GOD for Borrah and his Rascals!!!
A delight. Thank you for posting!
Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!
très bonne idée d'avoir mis en ligne cette vidéo Merci

No real comparison, but they are good.
it's the title song of the film, "One in A Million"
One of the funniest scenes ever. U can turn it off after the ritz bros.
"When harmonica was King,,,"
my uncle is in this!
magic...
So. Good. Just saw them on TCM. Had to Google it. Blessings always.

Strike my earlier comment. There is a CD available.
This video bothered 16 people to the point that they hit the dislike button. Shmucks!!!
I agree with a stronger adjective!
What song are they playing around the middle of the video?
LMAO!!! That little short guy must've been Joe Pesci's father. ;)
Even five seconds of Gershwin!
anyone know who the bass player is (the main bass player, not Borrah?)
Toots Thielemans led me here,,,,,,,,,,,
Whoops,,Back Again,,,,
What movie is this scene from ?
+Valerie Fredrick "One in a Million"
Ima guessin that Borrah is the goofball.
German class brought me here....
HAHA back again,,,
:-)
Adolph Menjou is sitting at the table...far right
Only funny when Johnny led the group
So far they have done more rioting than performing...
LMAO
Gee, these geeks were actually funny.

+Amy Jane The violinist? I enjoy your work, esp. with John Zorn. Wish I could help. Good luck.
