How is it offensive? If two guys like the same girl, emotions might get in the way, which includes anger. The same happens to girls ( even more than to guys ). But I bet if it was a guy being fought over, you wouldn't be here complaining.

You missed my point. Is the girl some sort of materialistic prize or trophy to be won by a game of basketball? Why are only their opinions counted and not the girl's? She never even got a chance to know that this other guy had feelings for her. Perhaps she might've had feelings for that other guy but she didn't realise them.
