- This ballad rendition of rough, blew me away. I know Yuju and Eunha were my expected vocal standouts but there was another surprise vocal standout for me. Cant wait for you guys to find out :) Also what an amazing first concert experience.

I highly recommend Lemon which Umji covered briefly in a Japanese concert being a Japanese song. Buddies loved it so much they begged her to release a full version of it. But Source Music wouldn’t let her do that as they regarded her as little more than a cute maknae and with little vocal talent. Only when she joined VIVIZ did her new company support her in fulfilling the wishes of Buddy and allowing her to fulfil her promise. It is very emotional as it describes the pain of losing someone you loved and Umji conveys that so powerfully. It is a wonderful performance especially as she sings it entirely in Japanese.
Regardless whichever version, we come to listen to Gfriend. People expect beautiful vocal when they know it's Gfriend. Yuju is just a rare vocal beast, a true gem from the 3rd gen. Umji's voice carries its special innocent sentimentality you don't find elsewhere.
7:55 usually GFriend fans chant the real names of the members in order of age, it looks like this: Kim Sojeong (Sowon), Jung Yerin, Jung Eunbi (Eunha), Choi Yuna (Yuju), Hwang Eunbi (SinB), Kim Yewon (Umji) - YeojaJingu (GirlFriend). But when they perform with Rough, fans chant the names in the order with which girls appear in the choreography: Umji, Eunha, Yerin, Sowon, Yuju and Sinb.
12:20 from this moment and until the formation of the clock - the musical part and choreography have been changed exclusively for this concert.
9:16 interesting fact, in choreographies of GFriend , they often join hands together, but sometimes the microphones in their hands interfere with this. In particular, in this moment in Rough (with microphones in their hands), Sowon cannot take Yerin's hand, because... Yerin's vocal part begins, and this always upset her very much, but with the built-in microphones there is no such problem.
GFriend doesn't have any ballad title songs, although there are some VERY good ones among the b-sides. So the next ballad version of the title song is Summer Rain and a little later, of course, Sunrise - these are also masterpieces. I hope you have the same reaction to the School Trilogy mash up from the 2016 Dream concert. There, all three songs are mixed into one composition, and not only words and music are mixed, but also choreography. Highly recommend. I'll leave the link on Patreon.

I recommend you watch Umji’s cover of Put Your Record on. She had to create the entire video herself doing all the filming with her brother and then editing it at home all night plus recording the audio and incorporating it into the video she shot. Her old company wouldn’t support her in her project in any way apart from uploading it on their official channel once it was completely finished. The video she shot shows her love of nature and you can also watch all the behind the scenes footage she shot to create the finished product in the video called G-Log #29. You can really appreciate how much effort she put into it watching that. The two videos would make for a great reaction.
