I'm 37 and 2 and a half years into owning a heating and air business. Had some rough times in my 20s which were my doings. Luckily with great family I got thru those trials. Years later I now have two trucks an one van on the road. I just found you guys about a month ago. Y'all make me wanna work harder. Be proud of my work which I always was. But staying positive and working hard an putting family and God first is the ticket. I'm from a small coastal town in southeastern NC. Your family is similar to mine. My mother cooks home cooked meals everyday, my father drives eighteen wheelers owned his own rigs an stuff, my brother runs heavy equipment. An I strayed from the path an went to HVAC school when I was young outta school. My sister is a pharmacy technician. Anyway watching y'all has been a real positive impact on me. I appreciate it. A grease pit sure would come in handy considering the amount of oil changes you do if a fella had him a backhoe and some labor a bit of cement it seems one could be dug out pretty quick
They are handy sometime but most of the time not. changing oil on this truck yes, Driving the combine in before rain and the tires are on top of the pit, now it's gotta be covered. Want cars in out of the weather gotta cover the pit. Floor jacks won't roll, can't use bottle jacks over them and so on.

I am amazed that Cooper and his friends are so knowledgeable about how to take mechanical things apart and then fix them. He is so young. And if you, DC, weren't there to service the machinery, things would fall apart. Every Cornstar is a hard worker.
Looking forward to seeing the new trailer in use next Fall. Hopefully no struggles to open the doors to unload corn and beans.
Quick tip for filters like that, once you have it loose cut the bottom off a 2L bottle and slide it over the filter you can pinch the bottle enough to get it off. Any spilled fuel/oil just gets caught.

I think you need to tell Cole to build one of those mechanic pits that you can drive the truck over to work on it and then you just walk down in the pit instead of having to crawl underneath it.
I thought pits were outlawed. I looked it up and found that pits can be dangerous, gathering exhaust and other fumes. I appreciate you thinking about simplifying the work required under vehicles, but maybe you could come up with a safer plan. I always helped my dad do things, but I am wife, mom, and a retired hospital tech. It’s not my area of expertise. 💙
@@Reyem. ventilation? That is something I understand working as a Respiratory Tech. I do know that a shop in our nearby town did have one, a pit. Being the curious child that I was, I asked my dad why they filled it in. He told me because a man died in it. I then did what all children obnoxious do ask, Why? Enough said. 💙

Maybe it's my age, but I haven't noticed you grunting. I'm a woman, and as I get older, I make a lot of noise when I'm working around the house or outside in the yard. You're a rock star keeping up with your boys Daddy Cornstar. Most of all, you're a great teacher and influence on your kids. They know what they're doing around the farm. If they don't, they are confident in themselves to figure it out. Not many parents can say that with kids that age. What I see the most is how much they love you and Momma Cornstar. You did a great job with your kids. ❤😊

Maintaining equipment is very important . Changing fluids and filters need to be done. Prevents to running smooth lessening resistance in tne mechanism.

When you do your fuel filters on older trucks without def I always added trans fluid to my filters to club up the injectors. 8-16 oz of transmission fluid per fuel filter. But it Lubes and cleans fuel injectors.

As we age it gets harder to get up and down it positions so we grunt or make other noises and it has nothing to do with matting just the effort and sometimes the pain

I all ways changed the oil while its hot , all the crud is suspended in hot oil V cold oil

My late husband would groan every time he lifted something and it drove me nuts ( even in his prime- nothing to do with age. Mostly because I never did it when I lifted anything. It doesn’t bother me to hear anyone else do it. When I get exasperated, I growl….so, to each his own. I didn’t catch WHO shot out of there to go to Colorado, then Florida. My son and his wife just flew to Key West for a weekend getaway ( from Utah) enjoy your videos, DC !

Hey.... When you were in the tight spot putting on that fuel filter full of fuel and all that Dirt up under the truck. Where were your Safety Glasses/ Goggles?? What woulda happened if You woulda tapped that filter under there and loss control of that filter and got Fuel in your Face/ Eyes. Plze use better caution ....Sorry to chew your Butt ....
