I am not too bad, I mainly use a PS5 DualSense and have a few 8BitDo controllers for different games. I have the arcade stick, Genesis style M30 I use for MegaDrive and Saturn and the NeoGeo pad with the clicky joystick.
One thing I've been using, is a DC barrel jack to USB-C converter. Couple of dollar on amazon, but now I can just use a regular USB-C cable and charger with my MiSTer. The size you need is the 5.5mm x 2.1mm
Personally, I have four 8bitdo Ultimate 2C controllers that we use as our default MiSTer controllers. The 2.4G connection has imperceivable latency with no wires, they feel great, & they look cool. Plus they're about $30 each but feel like a premium first party controller. I brought it to a party a few months ago & we had a ton of fun playing Goldeneye with this setup 😊
As interested as I am in FPGA, Im always just wanna wait until the power is there. I need to see Killer Instinct arcade running. PS2 would be the cherry on top.
I love the Reflex Adapt. I recently got a Snax64 too just to try, and the Adapt is more convenient for me. I'll mainly appreciate the Snax for 4p n64. Also, nice section on CRT. I've seen so many people say that CRT is too expensive now, only to find that they are only searching for PVMs or consumer Trinitrons. I have 5 CRTs of varying levels of specs and sizes, and even my most basic off-brand and composite only TV/DVD unit still has a very enjoyable picture for retro consoles compared to my premium modern sets unless i'm using a RT4K. CRT can truly be one of the least expensive and simplest paths to good visuals in retro if you have the space for one.
Very excited to finally get my mister, managed to snag the recent mister pi release. very helpful to have this video drop now as ive been looking at which snac adapter to get, probably going to go for N64 & Saturn and maybe PS1 further down the line. Thank you for your uploads, im not sure id be getting into mister if it wasnt for your updates! Looking forward to trying out some CDi for the first time and prepared to lose hours of my life to Tempest2K on the Jaguar core!
@@VideoGameEsotericawhat exactly is the snac adapter that's included in the latest batch of taki udons mister? İs it only to use for SNES games or is a controller hooked to that would be a low latency controller for every core?
As they both use the same adapters, get both to maximize investment. just remember to get enough adapters - I have at least two of every one they offer, four for N64 of course.
Definitely. I have that with a Bluetooth/WiFi adapter and works perfectly. I also use it wired, because of the rumble since I play a lot of Star Fox 64
I'll admit that after getting rid of my last CRT back in the day, I'm not going down that road again. D**n thing about killed me!!!! 🤣 CRTs might be the one retro gaming thing I don't have much nostalgia for.
I'm interested in getting an extension cable for the serial user port. Since it's not technically USB, is there a specific cable I need or will any USB extension work?
Hey Buddy, love your videos. Bought my Mister from Retroremake, just waiting it's arrival. Wasn't able to find the link for these component cables, could you please share? Thank you, keep up the great work 😉
Awesome video as always. Im thinking of buying a Sinden for the basic reason that i dont want to be hanging IR sensors on 65" LG OLED. Im just waiting to see if they can get it working on the Saturn or some arcade cores.
Can MisterPi handle doing groovymame to cast to CRTs similar to the de-10 mister? Also is all I need the base Mister and the AV pro board to accomplish this?
Forgot about direct video. Looking forward to it. I finally justified the stupid cost of it to myself but just got kicked in the poohole with a tax notice of $232.87 Australian Dollarydoos for DHL to release it from customs. I didn't factor in the over $1,000 Dollarydoos tax when I ordered it. No wonder they go for $1,500 on eBay.
One item (or items) that may be good to do a recomendation on and not covered in the vid , a bluetooth and/or wifi antenna? While i always prefer to go wired when using mister on my desk or retro cabinet, using the mister on the living room tv is easier using wireless controllers....and wifi, most room in my house have a option for a wired connection, but not all :S
I kept this out as I’ve seen recommended models not work later as companies seek to update internals and leave the same model name with some vendors, turning into a mess for people
Most people these days recommend that black & green USB wifi/bluetooth dongle. It's a grey market special that multiple vendors sell for cheap on the established retailers and Taki Udon sells through Retro Remake. I have one, works well. Just take care to generate a new MAC address (mac_address_change is a good script to automate this job, but then you can just copy other your ethernet's MAC as well, if you aren't planning to use it) if there's more than one MiSTer board with wifi adapter in your house.
@@VideoGameEsoterica Yeah, totally understand. Happens with other items as weill (hdmi splitters, will look the same, internals could be VERY different, probably many more examples)
Brand: Auscoumer 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars (4.4K) USB WiFi Bluetooth Adapter, 600Mbps Dual Band 2.4/5Ghz Wireless Network External Receiver, Mini WiFi Dongle for PC/Laptop/Desktop This is what was recommended to me and it’s worked flawlessly.

You know what they say about MiSTer owners. We don't collect games, we collect controllers! 🤘🎮
Hahaha I have like 50 now
Well, that explains why the MiSTER appeals to me... I was already collecting controllers!

I’ve done that in previous videos
is it possible to pair the Nintendo Online 64 controller on bluetooth ?
Yes, its the only way i like to play the n64 core is with the NSO N64 controller.
They pair to just about any blue tooth adapter
Yep. Totally possible
That is the nice thing. MiSTer basically accepts everything
