I am now 65 years old and remember this same cycle starting with Jimmy Carter. After i built my first house for resale the construction interest rates went up to 20%. That killed my building career. I've been employed as a carpenter for 50 years and the democrats always preferred we sat home with no work. The first time I voted was for President Regan. The best president of my lifetime.
I remember when interest rates were 12% and they thought it was good.
I couldn't vote yet in Reagan's 1980 landslide, but when I could in '84, I was proud to cast my ballot for Reagan who has proven the Best President of my Lifetime!
It’s not the democrat party. It’s the dependent party
@@robillingworth8503Yet Trump's net GDP for 4 years equal to 40 previous years. Yeah, did you Reagan did some good things, but he was the worst on the working class that's ever been.
Definitely
Currency manipulation is election manipulation
Departure from the Federal Reserve Gold Standard in 1971 for good reason. Maybe returning to the gold standard would solve manipulation of inflation figures.
Gold standard died when the US failed to actually have the gold on hand.
A huge problem is that a large part of the American people don’t understand anything about national debt. Most people are just trying to survive and don’t realize what’s been happening to their country.
Just as big of a problem is those that understand what is going on and have little power to change course. It isn’t like us “crazy conspiracy theorists” haven’t been blowing the whistle on this crap for longer than I have been alive.
Lots of us understand and have no power to do anything to change it other than insurrection.
I just finished the Creature From Jeckyl Island yesterday. I’ve been a registered Libertarian for a year and a big fan of Ron and Rand Paul for even longer, but only after reading that book I realized how important sound and honest banking is if we want to achieve economic stability.
Any time you find yourself asking "Is the government or it's psuedo-governmental affiliates committing [name a crime] today?" just know, the answer is always yes. It's not a real government, it's a crime syndicate.
A cabal is more like it.✌🏻
All the way to your local city government and the police and court system
@@phillippitts6294 Real question: what is the differece between a crime syndicate and a cabal?
I don't see the difference. They both want to hurt me and my family while benefitting themselves. They both act nice while I play along and threaten force when I don't.
@@ancienttraveler5491 well cabals are generally done in secret by a small group of people. Who promote their own interests and agendas . While a crime syndicate’s main priority is making money. The reality I’m my opinion. There’s not a mouse’s fart of difference between the two. Kinda like Dems and Republicans. ✌🏻
My neighbor who has lived in their home for 60 years had an issue with a bunch of pipes and had their septic tank dug up and the pipes replaced. I don't know all the details, but it cost them $23,000. Interestingly, they bought their home 60 years ago for $27,000.
Got mine for 4500. But not the leach field. Must of done the latter also. That is the biggie$
Excellent explanation of what’s gone fiscally wrong in this country. Heartbreaking how The People have been fleeced for all these years. We desperately need strong Americans to stand up and make things right.
Thank you for validating what I’ve been saying to friends and family. You’ve really explained the fiscal situation of this country in easy terms for people like myself that don’t entirely understand the intricacies of monetary movement and the effects it creates.
It's important to note that minimum wage increases invariably only hurt small businesses. Major corps like Walmart can absorb the cost with a tiny price increase across their vast footprint, whereas a small business has to increase it's prices dramatically to afford the higher costs which almost always prices them out of the market... And then Walmart swoops in and buys up that small business for pennies on the dollar.
Walmart can also invest in automation in a way that small businesses can't and especially can invest and absorb the liability that comes with automation
This was great. Thank all three of you for the insight, as well as a shout-out to Ron and Rand Paul, two of the least corrupt politicians in the past seventy years.
OMG thank you, I've learned so much about money that I never understood before. Good talk, thank you, thank you!
"Is the FED engaging in X?"
"Yes and also in A through R."
🤣 Thanks for the laugh. I needed one.
Every day, I grow more and more radicalized against the people in charge of our economy.
You’re gonna have a great future. Don’t grow weary in well doing
Thank you Mr. Freitas for explaining how government works. ❤
Nick is not explaining, that the Directors of the " Federal Reserve " are appointed by the President , but the President is submitted a list of persons to pick from , provided by the Federal Reserve. So , they run their own show completely, including making their own rules . The Federal Reserve is nothing more than a lending institution and not part of the U.S.A. government . They charge us interest on all that HUGE debt each citizen now has . The Federal Reserve doesn't care how big debt is , they make more money the bigger debt .
Do you really think that the federal reserve is independent, and do you really think that Congress has nothing to do with it?
Yes they are independent and they control the government @@vidard9863
Thank you for this episode. It really does explain what has happened in the last 50 years and why we are in the financial pinch we are in, plumb too much spending. Too much spending on the part of the Feds and too much spending on the part of the people as well. Thanks again!!
I refuse to tip UNTIL I get my food. How would I know to tip for their service, or not? Tipping should ONLY be if they have to go beyond normal service.
its just like content creators at the beginning of yt vids, hit that like button...how the heck do i know if i like it or not until after i watch it. its not a like button, its a let folks know im watching button, likewise, we no longer tip the service industry, we conform to industry demands.
It's like the donate round up stuff at stores. What they do is take the donation amount you give them to donate and get the write off
Inflation dead ? I must be living on a different planet !
Great history lesson. Should be part of every classroom.
Most of the people are constitutionally and monetarily illiterate. Thats the problem for no accountability. Constitutional Competency as a prerequisit to hold and maintain office needs to happen fast.
Florida just passed a law to do monetary reviews of their state polatitions .
How about requiring monetary education and the US Constitution in the 4 years of high school.
@@redraven1410do you really want government teaching your children what the constitution says
It seems to me that a fix would be simple, just no desire in Washington to implement one.
What fix would that be though? I’m all for fixing everything but just saying something is easy to fix with no substance??
@@waynelishowid1898 stop printing money is a start. Bring back the Gold standard is a second.
@@waynelishowid1898 Mostly just remove government control of the markets. It's literally that simple. When Obama claimed "there is no magic wand" and Trump, with a few modest reforms, achieved his goal in such a short time (a year or so I think).
This isn't accidental, or incompetence, it's intentional.
Why fix a system that is working as intended as far as they are concerned? What easy fix is there really when the incentives are structured for bad behavior? You cannot have a reserve bank and a government without this behavior becoming normal.
@@waynelishowid1898abolish the fed and 90% of the government and the problem will be fixed as it should be by the people
Always enjoy you podcast
Finding people that are willing to work is a challenge. Finding people who can just learn (and remember) how to do something one day to the next. And don't give them a weekend off. Monday is like day one.
I'm really enjoy your show thank you for your time and effort to educate the American people
Also the income tax amendment or 16th came into existence at pretty much the same time gov no longer needed to issue bonds, went to the federal reserve and you get to pay it back through taxes
pollieve example was: If there are 10 loaves of bread and $10 chasing those loaves, each loaf will sell for $1. If the Bank of Canada increased the money supply to $20, then there is then twice as much money chasing the same number of loaves of bread. Bread will then be sold for $2/loaf. The only way to make people better off is encourage economic growth and the efficient production of goods, so the bakery can produce 11 loaves of bread for the same resources costs. Each loaf will then be worth $0.91 Inflation is a tax on savings.
I’m in Louisiana and prices have not stablized
This is one of the best pod casts ever. Everyone should be made to watch it
Fantastic episode!! Shared to lots of people!
@22:40 Great point Nick. I need to start phrasing it this way. Gas, groceries, housing costs, etc. haven’t gotten more expensive, your dollar has been artificially cheapened by the Fed.
Thank you
Most important video of a generation!
Love your videos! Thank you!
Amazing Awesome Master Class. Very well presented. Thx.
Yes
Wow! I have never heard that about F.D.R.
The only question that matters after this is, so how/when do the people respond?
It was written,,,,A loaf of bread can buy a bag of gold
Amen & Amen!❤
When will "the Fed" start paying my personal bills. Like gas, groceries, electricity! Just wondering because it seems like illegal immigrants are getting a free pass. I have been paying taxes for 40 years. When do I get a break? How much are the illegal immigrants going to pay me?
The biggest argument to automate in the fast food industry is the push for a $20 per hour wage.
There was also beginning under Nixon the Petro Dollar. where the Saudi and other OPEC members wouldn’t sell oil for anything except dollars, which did prop up the value of the dollar, mostly just because foreigners had to have dollars in order to buy other things which gave it a built-in value, but not a set value. but that’s a weak and squishy support compared to gold backing.
I love it that you share the truth. But, sometimes the truth stinks! Thank you for making the obscure clear.
ABSOLUTELY!! 100%
They have to protect their interests of course.
Thank you for this explanation. I knew some of this but could not give the reasons for needing to act on what I knew to my husband. I have the ammunition now to discuss this and save my retirement.
tell me it's time to dust off the plate carrier, without telling me it's time to dust off the plate carrier...
The British Pound is a pretty good indication of inflation - now it's worth a hundred new pennies, ten years ago it was worth 200 new ha'pennies, prior to decimalisation it was worth 480 old ha'pennies and back in the early '60s it was worth 960 farthings.
There should be no federal reserve, and the government must keep its grubby hands off the economy.
Such a great video! Thank you for so much education on topics like this. I appreciate gaining the knowledge! Some of it i knew, definitely a lot i didnt.
One of the nonreligious uses of church membership and attendance is the connections you make with people of various jobs that you can get help with aspects of life you're not familiar with. That is a reason different lawmakers are against Christianity, I think. ONE of
Reasonable..
Back in the day the government had programs to support small businesses , raises promotions, you could start from the bottom like my dad did at a carpet distributor and work your way up to ownership. Nowadays big corporations have taken over and there is no support for small businesses, the core of American business. We are doomed to fail and so we need to go back and support those small businesses!
Yes. That is all.
Such a standup guy, smart, good handsome... You win Tina
In 1970 or thereabouts they also increased immigration...
Are there actually people who view our current economic state as “BOOMING”???
I don’t know any🤔

Nick, please move to Washington State.
I personally wish we had someone like him here as well, but he'd likely never get elected in the heart of blue county. Hardcore Democrats entirely run the three provinces of the People's Republic of California that form the West Coast of the US.

I now want to start my own bank and dollar based on the gold standard
Im definitely no economist, but all I know is something has got to give. The American people deserve better from our corrupt government & we cant sustain this mess for much longer. People I talk to every day are frustrated. Just today I had a brief conversation with an older woman at the grocery store, & we both agreed that steaks are getting smaller & smaller & costing more & more. For being the "most prosperous country on earth" it certainly doesn't feel like that for the common citizen. & whats worse is that people dont need a lot to be happy, most people just want to live comfortably & have a little extra left over for fun. No one is asking to own a Ferrari & live in a mansion. For the love of god young people cant afford housing, period! Our country is run by traitors.
Ron Paul & Rand Paul are father & son. It was Ron Paul who argued for fiscal responsibility.
I would Not be surprised……Not one bit!!! SCARY!! 😡😡😡😡😡
There is 3 kind of workers , the partner he will do what ever it takes to help get the job done. The observers the ones that are happy to watch you do it all . Then there is the opponent he will do everything in his power to make sure you don't get the job done.
Nick do you think they're still gold in Fort Knox? Why do you think Congress has not asked to go and see it I think the last time was like in the '70s or '60s?
I would agree with you that it's not greedy companies, and it's just bad monetary policy, if companies were not reporting record profits every year. They raise their prices, and say that they need to keep up with inflation, so they don't close their business down. Well that would mean that their profit % would lower or stay the same. The fact that profit % is rising, means they're pocketing all the extra money. They are raising their prices higher than they need to keep the business running, the very definition of greed
This is why 45 said it will be a (blood bath) its the economy.
Is M2 the same as, for lack of a better term, "gross wealth", which I'm defining as the sum of everybodies worth?
Is it a government agency? Is it located inside the BELTWAY? Are the directors appointed by the Executive Branch? Is it staffed by people who live within 40 miles of DC? Then the answer is YES!

Prob’ly so.
1. Frank L. Blum, The Wizard of Oz
Allegory of effort to change US monetary policy from the gold standard to just wishful hope in paper.
2. Fed annual reports only summarize with one of two statements. Either the economy is responding nicely to our sound monetary policy OR due to unforeseen events beyond our control the economy is suffering.
3. Higher minimum wages offer higher personal income tax revenue to the politicians. This is a selling point to get support for the various bills to enact higher wages. Most politicians do not understand they will be collecting higher inflation dollars.
4. Be careful of WTFin71. Not everything there is sound, though most is.
I thought the fed"s main job was to give billionaires and Wall Street 0% interest loans. Where the normal people don't have access to that
Short answer……. Yes
Thank you for pointing out that Hamilton was a big central government guy! He had his part in the founding but was terrible regarding the true federalism on which the US was founded. So many of our modern conservatives claim to be Hamiltonians. I don't believe most of them understand the many problems with Hamilton if they value federalism.
How many trillions of dollars did they loose before 9/11 …. Why are they not accountable !
The Federal Reserve bank is not even owned by the United States, we pay England reparations for losing their country to this day. Started with the 1913 banking act
