I am now 65 years old and remember this same cycle starting with Jimmy Carter. After i built my first house for resale the construction interest rates went up to 20%. That killed my building career. I've been employed as a carpenter for 50 years and the democrats always preferred we sat home with no work. The first time I voted was for President Regan. It's important to note that minimum wage increases invariably only hurt small businesses. Major corps like Walmart can absorb the cost with a tiny price increase across their vast footprint, whereas a small business has to increase it's prices dramatically to afford the higher costs which almost always prices them out of the market... And then Walmart swoops in and buys up that small business for pennies on the dollar.

So , they run their own show completely, including making their own rules . The Federal Reserve is nothing more than a lending institution and not part of the U.S.A. government . They charge us interest on all that HUGE debt each citizen now has . The Federal Reserve doesn't care how big debt is , they make more money the bigger debt .

pollieve example was: If there are 10 loaves of bread and $10 chasing those loaves, each loaf will sell for $1. If the Bank of Canada increased the money supply to $20, then there is then twice as much money chasing the same number of loaves of bread. Bread will then be sold for $2/loaf. The only way to make people better off is encourage economic growth and the efficient production of goods, so the bakery can produce 11 loaves of bread for the same resources costs. Each loaf will then be worth $0.91 Inflation is a tax on savings.

Just today I had a brief conversation with an older woman at the grocery store, & we both agreed that steaks are getting smaller & smaller & costing more & more. For being the "most prosperous country on earth" it certainly doesn't feel like that for the common citizen. & whats worse is that people dont need a lot to be happy, most people just want to live comfortably & have a little extra left over for fun. No one is asking to own a Ferrari & live in a mansion. For the love of god young people cant afford housing, period! Our country is run by traitors.

The fact that profit % is rising, means they're pocketing all the extra money. They are raising their prices higher than they need to keep the business running, the very definition of greed

    1. Frank L. Blum, The Wizard of Oz
Allegory of effort to change US monetary policy from the gold standard to just wishful hope in paper.
    2. Fed annual reports only summarize with one of two statements. Either the economy is responding nicely to our sound monetary policy OR due to unforeseen events beyond our control the economy is suffering.
    3. Higher minimum wages offer higher personal income tax revenue to the politicians. This is a selling point to get support for the various bills to enact higher wages. Most politicians do not understand they will be collecting higher inflation dollars.
    4. Be careful of WTFin71. Not everything there is sound, though most is.

I thought the fed"s main job was to give billionaires and Wall Street 0% interest loans. Where the normal people don't have access to that

Thank you for pointing out that Hamilton was a big central government guy! He had his part in the founding but was terrible regarding the true federalism on which the US was founded. So many of our modern conservatives claim to be Hamiltonians. I don't believe most of them understand the many problems with Hamilton if they value federalism.

The Federal Reserve bank is not even owned by the United States, we pay England reparations for losing their country to this day. Started with the 1913 banking act

    "Full Employment" = Draft Everybody.
Everybody who has a debt goes bust when the bank changes currency fundamentals.
Then they go "work for" the army.
It APPEARS voluntary. Who gains control and leverage?

We are serfs. We are working our whole lives and most cannot afford a home of their own. The difference is serfs actually had more days of rest than we do.
