Kai, I've just watched the cut. Impressive job, thank you for doing this! The most important change for me was Qui-Gon speaking to Obi-Wan when he was under the rocks and when he decided to let Vader live. And change for airspeeders was good, too. May the Force be with you.
Came back here after watching the cut. What can I say... Apart from some unfixable story-related issues, this was a virtually perfect version of this story. All of the fat cut out, all the awkward dialogue trimmed. You actually made Reva an intriguing and intimidating secondary villain (what she always should have been imho). Just by moving the order 66 flashback to the scene where she's confronted by Obi Wan you made the character so much more compelling and surprising. And I can't tell you how much I appreciate the part at the end where it's Qui Gon who persuades Obi wan not to kill Vader. It makes so much sense, i can't believe they missed that opportunity (they literally had Liam Neeson returning, it's baffling how they used him instead). Thank you for this, it was truly well made, and proof that this should have been a movie in the first place! 👏👏👏
I’m happy to see a hard working editor do something more with the character we all love and aspire to be. Kenobi has always been my favorite movie character, and I don’t think I can forgive how Disney treated it. I’ll support Kai anyway I can, in hopes we get to see this film

I truly love this cut of the Obi-Wan show, and truly appreciate all the work you did on it, Kai. You alone make perfect sense of why Kenobi does not kill Anakin/Vader, by showing us how Obi-Wan hears the voice of Qui-Gon in his head, reminding him that Anakin is the chosen one who will bring balance to the Force, that his destiny is not done yet. A terrible yet beautiful moment, which for me gives a sublime meaning to the way Obi-Wan gives Vader a rueful yet forgiving smile on the Death Star, then raises his saber and allows himself to be struck down.
@@ChristopherBergsten Er... so you didn't know that Vader lives on to strike down Kenobi on the Death Star? And you haven't watched the Kenobi series on Disney+ ? This was amazing. I watched it last year, and absolutely loved it. I enjoyed the full Kenobi series, but this really tightened it up into a beautiful movie (and cut a LOT of extra unimportant stuff). Thank you!
What a freaking LESSON. It finally almost all make sense (AND with good pacing and awesome editing / cuts). I was mindblown by the whole absurd "both vador and inquisitors spend their time NOT assuming any kind of "jedi hunt" activity, especially obiwan's, for.... no logical reason whatsoever" And also the "inquisitors discover obiwan is on tatooine, as well as another jedi on the run. Everyone discovers obiwan is alive and well. So the serie ends with obiwan alive, and probably on tatooine, and its known by both vador and imperials, and... they'll do nothing about it until obiwan reappears in episode 4" This is a self-shot in the foot! THIS edit clears stuff out in such an easy way : just DON'T make inquisitors stay on tatooine and discover Obiwan might be there, and move on, so vador and the empire don't know where to look for at the end of the serie, period! Thank god for this work, Kai xD
I’m going say now, this movie reignited my love for this franchise but then accelerated my disappointment in how badly this IP has been destroyed by activists and those that quite frankly hated the source material in the first place, thank you this with people like you there will always be hope.
I wish I could take back watching the show, but the optimism I had will finally be satisfied. I’m glad to see this side of the Star Wars story restored.
Hello There! It was Amazing! This is what should've been made by the studio originally. It was nearly perfect. I've already watched this edit and absolutely loved what you did, you put everything together wonderfully in a way that makes the most sense for the character's journey and takes out what didn't make sense at all in the show. The only thing that didn't work for me here was the music during the final duel. As epic as those classic duel themes are and as much as I love them, they felt really out of place to me because they are so connected to their original moments in the films and those were very different moments, so it really took me out. I would love to see a future alternate version with the original music there so it would be the absolute definitive way to experience Kenobi for me. Just my own personal opinion here, I understand if it's an unpopular one. Just wanted to give my feedback, keep up the amazing work :)
Yeah I think the Soundtrack they composed for the show and for Vader's Suite is honestly amazing. It really communicates the anger and pain and horror.
@@themandmshow9098 definitely give it another listen, it's amazingly captivating. I found the entire show underwhelming and pointless, they brought down Obi-Wan's character and brought him back up to the same place he was at the end of Revenge of the Sith. The finale duel was the only thing I thought was well done. It took me to seek out the soundtrack and keeping out of mind how underwhelming the plot and direction of the show is. The composer did ab amazing job. Really truly felt like John Williams.
@@themandmshow9098 yes, the music from episode 3 (Battle of the Heroes) plays during the second part of the fight, and the theme from episode 1 (Duel of the Fates) plays during the first part. I think that music is epic too, I'm just saying it didn't fit this moment in my opinion. I know many people didn't like the original theme in the show, that's why I'm saying to have just an alternate version with the original, while keeping the main version with the film music for those who prefer.
I've watched this edit twice. Love it. My only gripe is I wish he kept the "ill do what I must" song during the obi vader fight. Thank track is thumping
Came from the Ahsoka trailer. That one and Obi-Wan's were two series I never thought I would watch again (I didn't hate them though) but if these cuts are as good as people say they are I'm definitely watching them. Maybe then I can have as good a memory of these stories as they should have been on the first place
This is honesty what the Kenobi show should have been from the start an amazing edited movie with the stuff we wanted to see Kenobi wasnt bad but it wasnt great so im glad to see fans coming together to fix the things Disney broke and idc what Disney says but this is Canon
I just watched the film and absolutely LOVED it. I thoroughly enjoyed the pace of the film, and the efficient character development. I loved the inclusion of flashbacks/audio. I also loved the rescoring through. Fantastic! The only addition I think I would have enjoyed is a rescore in the interaction between Kenobi and Vader after his mask is broken. I've seen some edits out there of this scene inching the latter half of "Anakin's dark deeds," and it brings out the emotion of the scene IMO. Wonderful project. Stoked to see more!!
I Love you man!!! You made Obi Wan Kenobi the great jedi he has to be. I kinda forced my self to like the series, but now that i saw your movie i'm showing it to my kids because it's way better and has no stupid things on it. Thank you very very much. I hope you can do the same with other Star wars series but i guess that is really difficult. I'll wait for Ahsoka now... Thanks from Argentina!!!
Im pretty sure we were all thinking the same thing after finishing obi wan kenobi: “Wow this was soo dragged out. This honestly couldve just been a movie” This mad lad took it one step ahead. Ill be the first one in line when this comes out. Your amazing
This is kind of like The Last Jedi in that I have doubts that a fanedit has enough (or any) material worth salvaging. Even if 100% Reva and Leia's scenes weren't unwatchably bad, the very premise of Kenobi and Vader duking it out to that extent at that point in time pretty much shatters conventional George Lucas era canon.
I've always thought that this series had some of the highest highs, and was only held back by poor pacing (and a few other small issues). I can't wait to see what you've done with it, and have very high hopes that this can be a truly outstanding piece of star wars media once some of the chaff has been removed!
As a old fan of Star Wars.. this edit has more feeling , romanticism and logic, than anything Disney has produced (maybe with the exception of Rogue One and one season of the Mandalorian). All characters were respected. the new ones look stronger and more relevant and leaves room for growth on all of then. Maintains cannon . Just hope the Grand inquisitor head was more pointy. .In reality if just show how poor Disney Star Wars has been, when having all the material they fail to produce quality material. EXCELLENT WORK ... KP

This was amazing. I watched it last year, and absolutely loved it. I enjoyed the full Kenobi series, but this really tightened it up into a beautiful movie (and cut a LOT of extra unimportant stuff). Thank you!
You should watch the new version some time! I released one in March this year that has overall improvements
@@kaipattersonfilms woe! You made it better?! Well then yes sir I shall watch it!
This...simply put was amazing. Its how OBI-wan should have been made
I liked the show but this looks so much better! You're incredible!!! @Starwars should hire you and make your movie an offical cut!
Can't wait to watch your's and PixelJoker95's edited versions. I'd like to see how different fans interpret this show.
Imagine if they had worked together?? A 3rd edit!
What a freaking LESSON.
It finally almost all make sense (AND with good pacing and awesome editing / cuts).
I was mindblown by the whole absurd "both vador and inquisitors spend their time NOT assuming any kind of "jedi hunt" activity, especially obiwan's, for.... no logical reason whatsoever"
And also the "inquisitors discover obiwan is on tatooine, as well as another jedi on the run. Everyone discovers obiwan is alive and well. So the serie ends with obiwan alive, and probably on tatooine, and its known by both vador and imperials, and... they'll do nothing about it until obiwan reappears in episode 4"
This is a self-shot in the foot!
THIS edit clears stuff out in such an easy way : just DON'T make inquisitors stay on tatooine and discover Obiwan might be there, and move on, so vador and the empire don't know where to look for at the end of the serie, period!
Thank god for this work, Kai xD
The edit was amazing! Much better than I expected. A few wonky scenes, but considering what you had to work with, the end results are awesome.
The recut of scenes, the deletion of annoying, stupid and unnecessary scenes and the addition of John Williams music and dialogues from past movies were brilliant. HUGE Thank you for this cut! 🙏
I just watched it and Wow! Sooo much better, thank you for doing this 😊 this for me is how it should have been! Best change was the additional scene and final fight/ending, just brilliant!
Amazing work! I've just watched it and I really enjoyed it! thank you!!!!! May the Force be with you
"A new way to enjoy Kenobi" would imply I enjoyed it the first time.
Its out? OMG GLORIOUS!!!
I saw it and i love that you cut out some of the shit. Geat edit from you and you team Thanks !
First off, Thank you YT Algarhythm for popping this up in my recommended section. I just watched it. Better flow, Better story, and just...Well...Better! Shame on Disney just how they treated so much of this franchise. Unless Jon Favreau and his team are behind it? I will skip anything else that is not done by them. Well done guys...VERY WELL DONE!
I hope this is half as good as it looks I've missed Star Wars so much
Omg just finished watching, literally had a tear in my eye, so good mate. Truly felt like Star Wars again, a feeling I haven’t had in a long time, spectacular, thank you, thank you 🙏 may the force be with you friend
So glad for this movie fixed all the annoying scenes in the original show!
I need to watch thisssss...great job, it looks so good 🙌
I've already watched this edit and absolutely loved what you did, you put everything together wonderfully in a way that makes the most sense for the character's journey and takes out what didn't make sense at all in the show.
If it’s the music from episode 3 then hell yes. The music in the original was so bland and boring and forgettable
@@picardsolo2471 True, the soundtrack really grew on me after I checked it out on Spotify, it's definitely the highlight of the show for me.
Looks dope, gonna check this out tonight!
Thank you 🙏🏽 I need more obi wan ❤
Love what you're doing, keep up the amazing work man 👏👏👏
You've done everyone a great service. Here's your cape, hero
OH WTFFFF I'M SO HYPE !!! THANK YOU !!
This is great, give the fans what they want, a simple concept that Disney/Lucasfilm doesn't seem to understand.
They need to hire these fan editors!!!
You sold me this with the opening crawl!
Excited and thank you for your dedication ! 🙏
THIS IS THE WAY, i just started watching Mandolorian show and i love saying this line now
The fact that Reva wasn’t in this trailer makes me want to watch it even more😂
Sadly she's still in this version.. 🙄😒
Finally Justice for the franchise, TY VM!!!!
Im pretty sure we were all thinking the same thing after finishing obi wan kenobi:
“Wow this was soo dragged out. This honestly couldve just been a movie”
This mad lad took it one step ahead. Ill be the first one in line when this comes out. Your amazing
It’s out! Link is in the description of the video 🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@kaipattersonfilms oh damn i didnt realize lmao. dw bro im watching this thang asap. your the goat
Thank you sir, you bringed balance to the force.
“A new way to enjoy kenobi” I’m pretty sure this’ll be the ONLY way
This is kind of like The Last Jedi in that I have doubts that a fanedit has enough (or any) material worth salvaging. Even if 100% Reva and Leia's scenes weren't unwatchably bad, the very premise of Kenobi and Vader duking it out to that extent at that point in time pretty much shatters conventional George Lucas era canon.
Patterson is the true Jedi
We wish yu all the best master patterson
Pure class!!! Awesome KP 👏
I've always thought that this series had some of the highest highs, and was only held back by poor pacing (and a few other small issues). I can't wait to see what you've done with it, and have very high hopes that this can be a truly outstanding piece of star wars media once some of the chaff has been removed!
And the lowest lows…
@@oldschool8330 fully agree haha, that's why I'm excited that this fan is removing many (or all) of those lows
Man I would love to watch this. This looks really good.
KP
i just watched it yesterday and i actually liked it better as a movie it just wirks better
I just saw your version last night. I loved it!
not me busting everywhere when i seen the classic transitions
simply because of the final battle this made the whole thing better
Great job my man!! Fantastic work!! Too bad Disney didn’t hire you to make it originally!!
I don’t care what others say… I still loved the Series, but I’m looking forward to seeing this
