Great video as always. No lunch break! Oh my gosh, never even occurred to me, that is really full on. But your littles always seem so happy and content, I am sure that makes it feel so worthwhile 😊
Loved this video👍I’ve been childminding since last Sept agree with everything you’ve mentioned, but I’m loving it and I don’t miss the office one bit. At 47 years old i wish I had done this years ago! You are doing a great job and I love your style of childminding😃
This was a great video! I am seriously considering becoming a childminder and have started to look into it so found this so helpful thank you! Would love more childminder content ❤️ xx
Oh okay this answered my question about why there was other children! I didn’t know you did that for a job, how cool. It’s called something different here in the USA so I didn’t realize you looked after other children as well.
New subscriber here! I am also a childminder, started June 2020. I can so relate to everything you said in your video. I use to be a Town Clerk working for the government so childminding was a completely different career move. It's far from an easy job! xx
Very honest review of childminding! I don't know why but I expected you to glamourise it and make it seem like a breeze. It is the hardest and most exhausting job in the world, but being at home with your own kids and the freedom make it worth it. My kids are teenagers now though and have asked me to 'get a proper job ' because they are fed up with the chaos and want there house back.
Oh gosh. I love the honesty. Do you think you will carry on? Your kids will understand why you have done it all this time when they get older and start to realise the value of freedom and time. Thanks for watching. X
@@ThisFamilyThing I have given notice to the school age children which will dramatically cut down the chaos, so I will concentrate on the pre schoolers only. I am hoping to reduce my hours to 8-4, but work is really slack in my area so that might not work out. 7.30--5.30 is a very long day and the young kids are so tired past 4pm.
Thank you for being so open about the emotions and mess with little ones. I am not a childminder but I have 3.5 year old twin boys and a 24 month old and it is chaos with emotions, the mess and getting them out is exhausting 😅
Ha ha yes I feel you there! It's definitely crazy sometimes and the meds is unreal. Thanks for watching Laura. You definitely sound like your hands are full too. X
Great video, I have so many questions though 😅 just considering registering and starting the process so I’m a little overwhelmed. I’ve been working with children for many years but not in my home or on my own. Thanks so much for the pros and cons x
Ah that's so great Clare. Yes it can definitely be overhwheming at first but as with anything, you tick off the things to do and get in the swing of it and it all becomes second nature. You have a step ahead because you have worked with children which is awesome. Feel free to message me at my Instagram - mimis_nature_playhouse if you want to chat more. X
You should see about expanding have kids up to 12 hiring you could have a area out the back as a room for kids 4 and under and have pepole working for you witch means you can have 20 kids in the setting and see about maybe building on some more land for 5 to 12 year olds witch you can also have 20 kids in the setting you can think of a buisness name you can provide school pickup snacks and you could probably have outdoor space you can have coat room etc you can also do reward programs with all the kids like a kindness board where if one of the adults catch you being kids they are put on the board and after 1 month all the kids on the board get a treat
This is so interesting! Do you know if any childminders work part time, and part time at a different job? Or wouldn't it be worth it with all the paperwork etc?
I do know some that do it part time as in a few days a week, it can still bring in a good income if you work longer hours on those days and make sure the spaces are full. I don't know any that do a different job too but whatever floats your boat really. You do you and choose whatever suits you, your lifestyle and family. ❤️ X
Thank you so much for this video :) I was wondering can one just leave the house as soon as kids arrive and stay out for the whole day (summer is a given but about in winter) so it doesn't ruin your day :D Also in terms if isolation, can you meet other mums and not childminders to hang out with?
Yes absolutely. You make your own rules as a childminder, you can plan your day as you wish so long as the childrens needs are met. You can stay out as long as you like and you can absolutely meet other mums too.
Yes absolutely. Pets are actually great as they add to their experience and learning. So long as the kids can't get to their food and it's put out of sight and the pet has a place to rest ect away from the kids. C
Hi. That's ok. Yes childminding can provide a good income. I can choose my own rates and charge what I want to charge. I can choose my own hours therefore working as much as I want to. Working full time as a childminder can bring in a really good wage. Childminders charge between £50-60 a day per child. Hope that helps. X
@@ThisFamilyThing I’ve been really wanting to start my childminding business but there’s not much out there re: income vs outgoings. What’s your average take home?
Yes that's right. Recording the child's progress in different areas of development. There is no hard and fast rule for how to do it. I don't childmind anymore but when I did, I would do something called planning in the moment and helping them progress as and when they needed it. My approach was child led. X
You could also offer your service as a native speaker of X language and that will bring you customers who want their children from a non English speaker nanny and learn instead from another nanny so they can learn that language at the same time as being cared for :D
The affection you have for your daughter is sooo heart warming 🥰
Aww thank you xx

Ah that's awesome Gaynor. Yes absolutely, working in an office doesn't even compare to the freedom of the job. Thanks for your kind words xxx

Hello, may I ask you about earnings without sounding rude? Are you able to make a living and be indipendent financially?
