Get married brother.😊 Have your own muslim family. Then you have someone to share iftar and eid together. May Allah bless you with everything that is good in the world and the hereafter. Aameen.
As someone who is mixed of Yemeni and Chinese-Indonesian, i do wonder if my chinese ancestors feel exactly like this when they converted. Always happy to see another Chinese muslim fellow. And to Darren, you might not have a muslim family yet (May Allah SWT guide them) but a Chinese Muslim family can come and start from you. InshaAllah everything is good and well for you, Darren. Both in this life and the next.
My late mum, may Allah bless her, was a Chinese convert with close families in Singapore. Even though, she has long passed, we continue to visit our Chinese families for New Year every year. So Darren , I doa that Allah preserve your family ties and may you remain strong in faith.
Assalamualaikum. Hi Darren, I am an Eurasian race and a Muslim living in Singapore. I am very proud of my Eurasian race and culture, and also, I am definitely proud of my belief and being a Muslim. Can I contact you for friendship. Inshallah.
someone told me a person who had this same concern during iftar. this person decided to iftar at a different mosque every night and found some sort of happiness in doing that. maybe you can try it this year insyaAllah.
Masya'Allah, didn't know you are a revert Darren! As a born Muslim, I am always intrigued with stories of reverts especially in Singapore's context. I understand that reverts in Singapore are minorities even within the Malay-Muslim community. We could do more to be honest. Nevertheless, as a fellow Muslim, I pray that your journey will always be eased by Him insyaAllah.
In a way, the majority people that converts have it harder than the minorities in a society such as ours. As he said he doesn't have much companionship such as during iftar. In which us Muslim since birth have. May he find his peace and companionship. Ameen.
My Grandma s a chinese Indon and found Islam as she married Grandpa yet she kept striving in understanding Islam through good scholars and yes She died as a proud Muslim and taught us to follow a religion which teaches donation, modesty and to seek education and self-improvement are part of the practice.Whoa..Islam it is😊
It is heartening and progressive of this channel to show Muslim reverts esp Singapore Chinese. We pray to Allah he opens up the heart even more ppl...like Darren said Islam saved him. To brother, Darren may Allah lead you a Muslimah so you won't feel alone in this life journey.
When it comes to iftar or Raya, you could take that initiative ... buy the food for your family to have dinner /iftar together even if they're not fasting ... for Raya, make the house feel festive, have special dishes, invite your Muslim friends over so that your family can feel involved ..
Hey Darren, thank you for being so genuine and true to yourself. I'd love to connect with you. May Allah ease your affairs and reward you for your sacrifices.

Assalamualaikum brother ,Alhamdulillah that Allah has guided you to Islam. May Allah bless you with a good righteous God- fearing wife who will be a joy to your life, Aameen. Alhamdulillah and may Allah increase your knowledge in Islam and put iman in your heart, Aameen.
I’ve had “some” experiences with my Chinese colleagues who “some” viewed the religion practices as uncompromising and strict. Esp when they see our strict 5x prayer lifestyle. I’m not surprised Darren’s parents had initial hesitation. Some of these perceptions are stemmed by a lot of stigma and stereotypes people have over Muslims. Sometimes, it can be very isolating as a Muslim. I wish Darren’s parents / relatives can be more supportive by trying. Try buy food for him during Ramadan or try and send him to mosque for tarawih prayers. They can indirectly be involved by supporting his journey. Don’t have to do much. It’s the little that counts.
Alhamdulillah Syukran Darren, May Allah guide you to be steadfast in Islam. Learn more about Islam by reading the Quran. You have found a very good mosque & Habib insya Allah will assist you. You will find peace when you Read the Quran. Welcome to Islam ………Insya Allah you will find a good muslim wife…
Alhamdulilah...Darren...HONESTLY...ALLAH SWT...have GUIDE you...May you KEEP LEARNING...about ISLAM...(I'm X-Sporean....and i know it's Takes a LOT of GUTS...as a REVERT...in S'PORE...)..
Mashallah Darren >>> TRUST in Allah he is the Ar-Razzaq (The provider) You now has a bigger family than before only you are not aware of it...worries not...... Dua to Allah for a wife /family🙂
Ada kajian yang bgtahu kalau London ni dibuang dari UK, negara ni akan mempunyai GDP per capita yang lebih rendah dari negeri yang paling miskin kat US, Missisippi tapi tak ingat bila kajian tu dikeluarkan. UK dah hilang manufacturing prowess dah skrg. X mcm dulu. London skrg dikenali sebagai financial center. Silap2 bila duit dah kering kena sanction etc nanti, habis mati terus.
My pray for all of Moslems may Allah Keep our Iman and Islam till the death. Wala Tamutunna Illa Waantum Muslimun. Salam dari saya saudara Muslim mu di Indonesia.
I wish mosques/surau would be more open for non-muslims to relax. Yes, they're open for visit, but it feels quite formal, you know? Muslims can lepak and even sleep at mosques, but it would not open like that for non-muslims. I understand that it's a sacred prayer place. Just wish that it would feel more welcoming and relaxing to anyone other than muslims too, so it's easier for them to learn about Islam & also for us to understand each other. Maybe can have some spot for anyone to visit/relax/sit. I dont know, sorry if it's not practical. Or maybe some kind of regular events where all races are invited. Or maybe in the mosque committee, can add non-Malay Muslims as well? I understand that most mosques usually have their own community who founded the particular mosque.
Why don't you go to the mosque have ifftar? I know in Malaysia most mosques provide ifftar. Many Msians go to the mosques or surau for the whole month of Ramadhan. While waiting for terawih solat, get to know your muslim brothers and make network of friends. Thats how you start.
Basically, in Islamic commonly tradition, every any newly Muslims convert; Mualaf have a privilege and priority in Muslims care wellfare as an orphans, vagabonds travellers, Ibnu Sabil ( A muslims students who from a poor family and struggling hard to complete any crucial important branch of knowledge i.e. surgeon specialists, airspace engineering, marine shipping engineering, nuclear specialists and so on ). If there are any misconducts, bad treatment by any wellfare organizations, you have a highly authority to report JAKIM or any State Islamic Council for a decisive actions.
Salam Darren, just find a nice Muslim lady or someone you fall in love and willing to join your faith, so you can settle down and have your own family. Many reverts mostly women do that as its not easy to live alone as a new Muslim, even you have friends.
For people who don't know Islam, you need to know that Islam is a religion for all humans because the Prophet Muhammad Shollallahu 'alaihi wa sallam was a prophet sent to all humans (see the Holy Qur'an Surah 7 Al A'raf verse 158) . Allah has announced the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad shollallahu 'alaihi wa sallam to all the prophets and messengers that Allah sent. And Allah has taken the testimony of the Prophets and apostles to support and help the apostles who came to confirm what Allah had revealed to them (see the Holy Qur'an Surah 3 Ali Imran verses 81-86). Prophet Muhammad shollallahu 'alaihi wa sallam has been reported to Prophet Musa alaihi salam in the Torah and Prophet Isa bin Maryam alaihi wa sallam in the Gospel (See the Holy Qur'an Surah 7 Al A'raf verses 155-157). Prophet Muhammad Shollallahu 'alaihi wa sallam was sent as a mercy to all nature (see the Holy Qur'an Surah 21 Anbiyaa verse 107). The Qur'an is a light for all mankind (see the Holy Qur'an, Surah 3 Ali 'Imran verse 138).
Yes, we need to think from the non-Malay Muslims (or reverts where they came from non-born-Muslim races) perspectives as well. (Sorry if i worded it wrong). Be considerate so nobody feel left out. Try to understand the reverts original culture as well.
Is it possible to make one Malay became Christian or Malay became Buddhist, or Buddhist became Muslim in where race meets religion to show Singapore is a multi racial country?
