Sometimes with Sleep Token songs, I get so engrossed in the vocals I forget how utterly amazing the drumming is.
II is God tier! One of the best drummers of this generation if not the best. Man is so versatile and he always just looks like he's completely comfy and relaxed.

The vocals captivate me on first listen, then on repeat listen I focus on the drums and am blown away again.
Hell yeah, I'll make multiple passes through the discography just to appreciate the drumming, the lyricism, piano play, production, etc.

The line "the vicious cycle is over the moment you smiled at me" hit me right in the feels when I first heard this song, because in DYWTYLM there is a line "and my reflection just wont smile back at like I know it should", to me this song is about him winning the battle with his inner demons and breaking free. I love that with Sleep Token their music has many interpretations so everyone's experience is also unique. He's a music wizard
This song is why I can't listen to Are you Really Okay or Do you wish, cuz this is the closure that the version of me who could relate to those songs wished he had years ago. Rain is clarity. Rain is victory over demons. And it makes Eden hurt so much more knowing the lore, knowing it's a cycle and he just keeps going back, knowing that's the sorta thing you don't want to happen for yourself.
Rain made me feel awake for the first time In a long time, recognizing that I am better than I was, and in better circumstances. It felt good.

One of the things you'll find when you listen to their previous album Tomb, is it is very oceanic themed. Drowning in the ocean. So the line "wash out the salt from my hands" though seems minor... it ties in. The whole trilogy ties in. Even the EPs tie in. Please go back when you can even if you don't post content of it. You're in for an amazing ride.
Absolutely agree! It's almost like listening to a John Williams soundtrack with themes coming back around and blending into the whole.

It is always a good day when you guys post a Sleep Token reaction. That wolf/lamb line took me out when I first heard it, too. I'm sad that your Take Me Back to Eden journey is almost done. I really, really hope you'll consider moving on to at least the fan-favorite tracks in their catalog because they're just as mind-blowing: The Offering, Dark Signs, Higher, Sugar, Blood Sport (album version and from the Room Below version), Jaws, Atlantic, Like That, The Love You Want, Alkaline... you know what? Just react to everything and I promise we'll show up to watch. 😁
His writing is very visual. He paints a picture for you so your brain can fill in the gaps of what he means. He uses the english language as brush in which he creates a beautiful painting that anyone can find themselves standing in the image he made. He is also very personal. He goes deep into places most songwriters are terrified to go to simply because they're so personal.
FINALLY !!! YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND ME . "i know, i know, i am what i am / the mouth of the wolf, the eyes of the lamb" is probably my single favorite sleep token lyric and NO ONE ever discusses it when they react to this song!!!! this entire song makes me so emotional and its so underappreciated!!!

Saw them in Irving Texas on May the 4th be with you and the moment vessel sang "rain down on me" from this song lightning struck behind the venue and proceeded to thunderstorm over us in the lawn section. Truly an epic experience and one of the guys behind us shouted out "this is fucking biblical!!" Definitely one of the best concerts I've ever been to
I remember that! I was in the pit and we could literally hear people in the lawn over the music it was awesome.

There are millions of ST´s reaction videos out there and you guys are pretty much the only ones that actually pay attention to and analyse the lyrics. That´s an insta-sub in my book. ST´s musicality and production value is S-tier and next level stuff but the lyrics is really what makes me connect with them on a deeper level. Keep up with your reactions guys, they are the best!

@JakobStrand check out @projectjango...he is reviewing all of ST's EPs, Sundowning and Tomb, he only heard Ascensionism and TMBTE track before he decided to hear their early stuff before he continued with the current album. Besides the wonderful guy, he has really been going through the lyrics and meaning and trying to understand more about ST. He definitely hopped on the ST train 😂 Good stuff.....and I really enjoy Kyle and Eric's videos as well. I love the look on their faces😂😂❤

I can honestly say that Vessel's piano, lyricism, delivery and feeling, coupled with ll's amazing drumming is an experience I never want to end and I love the way you both are able to fully immerse yourselves in hearing - and feeling - the whole package. Every so often a genius level musician or group of musicians come together and give extra with every single song. Sleep Token are this for us all right now.
There is literally not 1 skippable song on the whole album.....you dont get many of those now a days but vessel pulled the shit off. My album of the year so far

I usually avoid listening to older (especially early) albums/tracks from bands just because I'm afraid I'm not going to like it, but MANNN ALLLL of their stuff is fricking amazing. In fact, I even listen to their second album more than take me back to eden!

I love this band so much. Musicality and Artistry at its best. A lyrical genius. I feel the same way about them making me feel a way about music I haven't felt in a long time. They take you literally through a musical and emotional journey with the mixing of genre's, you get a taste of every style you love, well for me that is, and the lyrics paint a vivid picture of what he is saying and feeling. Most can connect in some way through their own life experiences and journey to the lyrics and it just brings those moments and feelings to life in the moment. They have definitely brought back to me the excitement and why I love and connect to music so much. These guys are just amazing and I'm so glad I found them too. I have gone all the way back to the beginning and it is amazing. They have always been this good and I can't wait for you guys to take that journey back. I hope they know just how talented and special they are. One of a kind, for sure. ❤
So I've watched all your videos for Sleep Token, barring two, leaving this one second to last and now onto Granite. Must say, I love how you guys are just as gobsmacked every time you hear them. Your reactions mirror my own and I can imagine a lot of others too.
Im fairly confident that its "wash out the salt from my earth" as a nod to the practice of salting the earth to prevent crops from growing
This album is so important to me. It came around the time I was processing my wife leaving earlier this year and I've recently found a new, greater and more genuine love. This song, just with many of them on this album, applies perfectly to my feelings and has really helped my process things. This new relationship has healed me in ways I wasn't even aware I was broken, and the rejuvenating and gentle nature of it makes me give myself fully, desperate to bathe in its comfort. It rains down on me.
(Other examples include Take Me Back To Eden relating to my desperate attempts to save my marriage and then my rage at the loss, or DYWTYLM finally verbalizing an interal struggle Ive had with myself for years.)
This album means so much personally so I'm very glad you've converted it all and look forward to your reaction to the full blown literal praise and worship genre track with the most heartfelt and touching melody that is Euclid. Enjoy fellas!

Before you react to Euclid, the last track on the final album, you should listen to the night does not belong to God, the first track on the first album. It's connected in a come full circle kind of way in this three album story they've put together. So unless you already know the song from the first album you'll miss the meaning behind the last.

Their first two albums are just as good as this album. You definitely won’t be disappointed. I’ve listened to at least one of the 3 albums daily since I first heard all 3. Some days I end up listening to all 3🤘🏼
