- Tears of the Kingdom takes a lot from it's predecessors, but just exactly how much? It's time to take a look at my favorite Zelda game, the Wind Waker!

I mean, the same thing happens in Ocarina of Time (he gets stabbed in the forehead, just not from above)
The main difference is that in wind waker ganondorf turns to stone, and in the other he is smited from existence
I LOVED WIND WAKER. Thank you for pointing out these similarities my mind is officially blown

Fusion for a best fusions vid: fusing an elemental keese wing to your boomerang will make it Fly and have an element at the same time. This works perfectly for the king's army YAHAHA.
You forgot the windup when launching from a tower the 1st time. Very reminiscence of the scene when tetra launchs link off her captain ship

Totk has references to every game, not just one, but if I had to chose it would be majora's mask
Me and my brother really like to point out very inconsequential similarities.
One that I can remember that I think is funny is that both games have maps that lead you to treasure somewhere deep below. (Ocean floor/depths)
Also, Koroks and pirates! Plus, when you defeat a boss, the jingle is the same!

I just started playing skyward sword HD and I would say the gameplay mechanics are similar. Totk Link has the same dodge and falling animations as SS link and the paraglider is just an upgraded sail cloth. In both games the shields break and act different depending on the material so item durability and material is similar. The heart containers look very identical. Stamina wheels act the same for running, climbing, and certain attacks. Also some sound effects are reused or altered from Skyward sword into totk (For example the Rupie bouncing sound). I think it’s neat that both games are very similar and I think a detailed video comparing Totk to Skyward Sword would be neat.

And both game have the treasure chart feature
admittedly, i do have a theory of wind waker ganon being totk ganon
I like how Ganondorf sees this sword forged by the goddesses, makes his skin go burn like touching the sun…
…and just snaps the sword before Link can actually do shit.
Like that almost feels like a joke in a way, like if Superman somehow took one look at regular Kryptonite and was like “yeah Imma just ignore that this time” and fucking nukes the bad guy so the Kryptonite has to be turned into SUPER KRYPTONITE just to even hurt him.

Windwaker is a great game and didn't deserve all that hate.

It got transferd into hyrule castle with text saying zelda anted to gift it to him and she hid it there cus she couldnt hid it in her house with link.

Wind Waker isn't the only other Zelda game referenced in Totk
If you have any common sense at all, you would've first realized when you skydive, you think of Skyward Sword.
Also, Wind Waker isn't the only game where Sages power the master sword, there's also pretty much every other Zelda game, for example, Ocarina of Time.

Nah, both games are really different, and also, WW is what is known as “fake open world” and ToTK is a “True Open World”

But oot & tww have a lot of similarities as well
