Can't thank you enough for posting this! My AC was blowing cold air only on the passenger side but blowing hot air on the driver's side. I was ready to replace blend door actuator thinking that's probably what stopped working but luckily I came across this video! I did this on my 2014 Passat TDI and it fixed the problem.

Why do you need to do this? Ive a 2011 Superb and when climate is off it still seems to be letting a lot of air through vents, would this maybe help?
