  • Joe Bonsall, The Oak Ridge Boys' tenor vocalist for nearly 50 years, died at the age of 76 on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Joe Bonsall had been performing with The Oak Ridge Boys for five decades until announcing his retirement in January 2024 due to poor health. According to a news statement, Bonsall died from consequences of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The Oak Ridge Boys broke their silence on the death of their longtime friend and bandmate by issuing an official statement on their website.

    One of my favorite groups of all time!! Loved them and the Statlers !! Joe was a pure class act!!

    😢RiP Joe. You will be missed. Love hearing the Oakridge Boys and now he is in Heaven singing with the other Angels in Heaven. Sending love and prayers to his family and band members
