    Fab cooking experience with Tola, Nigeria version of Ogbono. Well, it looks appetizing, and delicious but i would prefer to taste it with pounded yam. Do you use tomato puree in your cooking to enhance tge flavour, and rich vitamin C? Enjoy and thanks for sharing. Bless you

    Tola has a unique taste. I wonder how Sierra Leoneans discovered this nut. Anyone knows how the tree looks like?

      Maybe you associated a lot with Krios.I myself only learnt to cook it when I got married. I know it's a vegetable, dried and made into a powder. I've never seen the fresh vegetable but I think it's a bit like Nigerian 'Ogbono.'

    • @DadasFoodCraveKitchen
      @DadasFoodCraveKitchen  3 года назад +1

      Yes am a creo girl. Like i said am not sure if tola and ogbono is the same but i will research it. Thank you for watching. Appreciate it

    Nice recipe. What is tola? Is it grounded vegetable, herb, etc. what does tola taste like?

    • @ellababy1176
      @ellababy1176 3 года назад +1

      No ma it is not a herb nor vegetable it is a fruit it's called Irvingia gabonensis or African (bush) wild mango in English (in Nigeria they called it ogbono )

      I think ogbono is different from tola, but i will do my research. Thanks for watching. Appreciate it.

      @@DadasFoodCraveKitchen You're right. Ogbono is different. It a bit stronger in taste and smell than tola. Tola is certainly much milder. I think they are prepared the same way though, easily soluble in palmoil.
