    It is off the ground you can see them use a step shim to lift the panel at the 7:53 minute mark.

    InSoFast installed onto a wall with existing conditions like a sink, 4" waste pipe, electrical conduit, and at the top of the wall the floor joist. It will show you how to pre-cut and dry stacked the InSoFast by measuring and laying out all the cuts, penetrations and existing conditions in advanced. You can easily cut around pipes, wall projections and other obstructions like electric wires so you can have a continuous blanket of insulation on your basement wall. With no gaps or holes in the insulation you will save more energy. Sometimes the best way to handle 4" sewer pipes is traditional framing. ;)

    I love these walls with nothing on them. I've got a sewer line around almost the entire basement. That slows things down quite a bit.

      Same in my basement

      Yes sewer lines present challenges and InSoFast isn't always the best method but here is a link about water line work arounds: insofast.com/explore/plumbing.html

    Are you asking about the drywall or the InSoFast Panel?
    Drywall 4' wide by 8' high by 1/2" thick
    InSoFast Panel is 2' high by 4' wide by 2" thick (24" x 48" x 2")

    Boyz, Instead of marking your drywall rip with your tape and pencil, and then trying to follow your pencil line with your utility knife, Use your tape and rip with your utility knife,

      Exactly! That's actually the trade trick, not the extra step he added.

    What screws are you guys using? I find it exceedingly difficult to pierce these studs with regular drywall screws...

    do inside corner joints crack since there is no edge fastening at corners?? Also, how do outside corners attach??

    • @insofast-continuous-insulation
      @insofast-continuous-insulation  Год назад

      No, we don't crack in the inside corner, the floats independently of the structure. Here is a video on how we attach in corners if needed. ruclips.net/video/9aCiiNLL8r8/видео.html

    Question why wasn't the drywall laid horizontal for one the long joint to mud?

    • @insofast-continuous-insulation
      @insofast-continuous-insulation  11 лет назад

      Good question. It is just a regional preference thing in this application going vertical was easier. Either way is fine.

      also there are no butt joints this way

      Yep smaller residential projects do have that unique advantage of eliminating butt joints. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Did you keep bottom of drywall 1/2 inch off floor? Don’t see a gap

    • @insofast-continuous-insulation
      @insofast-continuous-insulation  3 года назад

      Yes we did the contactors are using a step lift for the drywall panels: www.homedepot.com/p/Wal-Board-Tools-2-1-4-in-x-15-in-Roll-Lifter-03-001/100377273

    I don't get how are they securing the drywall to the concrete? is there a wooden frame behind the insulation?

    • @insofast-continuous-insulation
      @insofast-continuous-insulation  9 лет назад +3

      iquit4gud This is the benefit of the InSoFast Panels. The framing is fully integrated into each panel. That's what those vertical black strips are running along the wall. For applications against concrete, they are engineered to be adhered directly to the wall so that you don't have to penetrate the block or waterproofing layers. Drywall is then screwed to them with standard drywall screws.
      Here's a video where you can see how easy this makes the installation process: ruclips.net/video/QZqhzFbxYKk/видео.html
      And if you're interested, here's the traditional method with wood for comparison: ruclips.net/video/oKQdo88Ne74/видео.html

      Your license would be obtained through your local county Code Enforcement Office but if they get a clue that you've already worked a day without a license you will be more than unhappy to have let them know that. You can not undo that. You will also need a tax ID sometimes called a business license. Your business needs a " Fictitious Name" registration which is the name of your business i.e. Drakes Drywall Install Inc. Some states also require a contractors license to install drywall some states do not but you have to check because it is fines and jail if ignored. Code enforcement officers need only sit and look at ads for services in flyers, newspapers, television, online, and in my case local theaters and phonebook and anyone advertising that is not properly regestered goes down.
      Its really not that hard to do some of it might seem a little bit expensive but if there's any real profit in your business then its worth it if its expensive for you to do, then for you there's not enough profit in this business. And that goes for time as well as it does money because some of these permits required a class or some very small speck of time somewhere.
