This will be a black box SDR radio. Two RX channel 16 bit ADC synchronous...200 watt TX out with pre-distortion. It's a direct competition for the Flex 8000 and Anan G2.
Thanks for the video. But what a silly way for a company to announce something. Showing us parts is strange. I can't get excited about parts. Still don't know what the heck an X60 is? Is it a flying drone? A Radio? An SDR player?
Your welcome. They are trying a new marketing technique which is unique for sure. The designation X60 I believe is a temporary one with the 60 standing for Icom's 60th Anniversary. Many believe this will be a competitor to Flex. Some think it may be a shack in the box. Most everyone agrees it will be pricey.
I am disappointed with Icom. I just got my license and am in the market for my first radio. I wish they would have told us more. Do I wait for details or buy another product? This is poor marketing. They should be informing the customer , not playing games.
Icom has outstanding radios out there already that are just right for newly licensed Hams. Depends on what you are looking for. My guess is this won't be a beginners radio and will be on the pricey side. Email me what kind of radio you are looking for, your budget, and what license you have at Hamradiobasics@gmail.com and I'll be happy to send you several suggestions.
Never wait for a new amateur radio product. History has shown you will wait more than a year. If your wanting an HF radio go with an Icom 7300 or Yaesu FT710 for now. You will not go wrong.
if a big auto maker did this , say Ferrari set out a steering wheel, a headlight, windshield wiper, and a floor mat , at an auto show.?!... it's a big anniversary year for them, I thought they'd maybe have a IC-7300 PRO or a nice new version of the IC-706 or even a sleek new IC-7000 PRO . something for the everyday ham. something we can sink our teeth into. NOPE here's a box of parts, let 'em guess what they are for!? wow-whee ! big disappointment. guaranteed this x-60 is going to be priced for people with disposable incomes .
I actually think it was great marketing from ICOM as it's got a lot of people talking. We won't have to wait too much longer as it will be revealed at the Toyko show in August. I'm hoping it's affordable - we will get an idea in August.
Thank you for smashing that like button, your great comments, and incredible support !

You could be right. Thank you for your comment.
look but no touch reveal of a bunch of boards - thanks icom for the tease
We will find out next month at the Toyoko Hamfest what this is.
All in remote radio or replacement for the 7100 🤔
What a great way for Icom to create maximum buzz online!
Sure is !

Wouldn't a lan port be provided for a flex-type radio?
That's true.

@@KevinReeve Agree 100%. Can't go wrong with a Icom 7300 or Yaesu FT710 - both are excellent radios !

bad marketing from icom. sales of the 7300 and 7610 will drop off while buyers save their cash for an x60
Thank you for your comment.
@@hamradiobasics your welcome
😔 Looks like parts.
