    thank you for the great instructions! Will disconnecting the freezer thermostat disable the auto defrost?

    • @AmreSupply
      @AmreSupply  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for watching, we're glad you found it helpful. The defrost thermostat is meant to protect the heater from getting too hot. It will disconnect the circuit once it warms up.
      Removing the defrost thermostat and leaving the wires disconnected will prevent the defrost heater from working.
      Bypassing the defrost thermostat will mean that it will not shut off the defrost heater at the rated temperature. This is not recommended as it is unsafe.

      @@AmreSupply Thank you! what would be the easiest safest way to disable the defrost?

      @@wantabeu2ify Disconnecting any part of the heater circuit will prevent the defrost from running but it's not recommended to run the refrigerator without a working defrost system as ice will build up and will prevent the fridge from cooling properly.

      Thanks for watching, we're glad you found it helpful. The defrost timer is run by a small motor, which is what we were referencing. You can see this explained in more detail here: ruclips.net/video/rsv0ary__p4/видео.htmlsi=b8LODeEtnEN_5Ztp&t=342
