  • Destroy All Monsters music video featuring Ron Asheton of the Stooges, Mike Davis of the MC5 and Niagara. Apparently this is the fourth iteration of DAM from the punk era circa 1983. Studio footage interspersed with live performance footage shot on location at the Second Chance in Ann Arbor Michigan, it is now known as the Necto. The audience shot at the end focuses on the Cult Heroes as they watch the band perform. Unfortunately there are no credits so I don't know who produced, directed and edited the video. If you can help with this information please add comments.
Mitch Ryder is the person in the kimono. Thanks to James Fischer for that.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it exists. I'm working on the Ron Asheton, Ann Arbor tribute documentary first but I''ll put it on the long range radar screen. stay tuned and thanks for the comments everyone.

Saw em at least 3 times in Chi-Town in early 80s. I didn't even know Ron was the guitar player at first. I went because a friend of mine told me, "You gotta check out this chick singer!" He was right! That first time, seems like the whole show was just Ron's buzz-saw pile-driving guitar and this crazy chick. Chicago had its own totally amazing local band New Wave scene

Mike Kelley was an audio/visual artist and produced this himself. Filmed in May 1983, released December 1983.

Niagara was always good to me. While we might not be close, we rubbed elbows when the art scene was picking up steam in Detroit. I was young and obnoxious and she was chill and motherly. And The Colonel was cool as Fuck.

Her older sister used to call her Niagara because of the tears the older sister could conjure out of her. Niagara ran with the nickname.

I met Mike and Ron years ago and they were really great guys as would befit their musical pedigree.
That girl singer's singing matches the quality of her artwork (check out the single sleeves - on second thoughts don't bother). UTTER SHITE !!
