From Ballinasloe to Drumshanbo part 3: "Viking Invasion"
Continuing our journey across Lough Ree, we explore the Peninsula of Rindon, one of the most fought over pieces of land in Ireland, it's Norman castles standing as reminders of the many battles waged here between the Irish and Vikings.
These were brilliant programmes .
what can I say Dick was a true gent and a top class narrator.rip Dick.great show.
My Gosh.., Such an AMAZING series.. The land of my ancestors..hard to conceive, having grown up in the western U.S. ..., I feel a longing..(!?) Thank You for posting..
It was a truly brilliant series. All 3 men on this boat have now passed on.They brought us on a wonderful trip.
@@derrickmurphy9874 I remember seeing this boat on the Shannon.
That trip and Dick Warner is a classic piece of travel history. Rip Dick. You had style. Lanesborough now devastated by the environmental fundamentalists. Shannon bridge and Bord na Mona ditto. No transition period for transfer to renewables. No Can Do culture allowed anymore. Lecarrow canal would never be allowed now. Someone would find a rare snail.
Sad to see lanesbourough power station as done the full circle. A relic to the past as of 18 Dec 2020 because a section of society believes it doing damage to the envoirnement.
Which episode features Dick's visit to Magans in Killashee Co Longford, anybody know.
