From Ballinasloe to Drumshanbo part 6: "Endless Road"
At the site of the former Rockingham Estate, we discover a verdant fairyland in its miniature waterways network. Farther on, past the breeding grounds of Atlantic Salmon and homes of sea eels, we find a canal restoration project that promises to bring new vitality to an ancient tradition. Finally, we pass Drumshanbo and on to Acres Lake, marking the northern limits of navigation of the River Shannon.

Watched this series when it was first televised back in 1993. Just watched all 6 parts now. Enjoyed it back in 1993; still thoroughly enjoyed it now. Something timeless about it with the charismatic Dick Warner. Love his presenting style. Many thanks for making this available on youtube.

got to love the sheer randomness of youtube--the things one finds within these one billion
videos. the photography, editing and music in this series is pure magic.nothing so wonderful
as simply messing around in boats...

Thanks for uploading. i could tell you many stories about Schollevaar, as I spent many years working on the boat with the owner, and piloting it for him when he was entertaining friends. It really pulls on the heart to see this lovely boat again. Will miss her till my dying day.
PM me if you'd like to know more about the boat and the people who built her.

I loved watching this again! I video taped all Dick Warner’s waterways in the early 90’s when c4 showed them. Thanks to you for the chance to watch otherwise forgotten gems! Such an off beat and atmospheric production. Unique!
Once the opening sequence started with the lock gates opening and the theme tune, it all came back! I thought what I could recall of this series, together with the Charles Whitton & 45M were long consigned to what I could dredge up from memory!
Someone somewhere must have Charles Whitton and 45M episodes lurking in old vhs tape collections that could be u tubed?! I’m afraid mine were thrown away years ago.
I was sorry to read recently of Dicks passing last year.
    Thanks again

A great series. A marvelous prelude to my holiday on the Erne, canal and Shannon later.

This is actually season 2. There was a season 1 but it never seems to have been released anywhere.

Once again thank you for the upload. I have never heard of this series before, watched all six episodes and would love to see more. Ireland is stunningly beautiful, i would love to spend some time there, damn South African currency is worth nothing, so not going to happen in the foreseeable future.

Can you please take the music off as those that are hard of hearing can't hear your comments. I would have loved to watch this but had to turn it off sadly.
