      they remove the locks if they are at a door otherwise they are legal.

    Thinking about where all the keys are. That is an insane extra weight added to the construction. Hope they call LPL when the bridge needs painting.

    • @Keymaster
      @Keymaster  4 года назад +1

      It's a tradition to throw the keys in the throne. The weight is not a problem, the locks are legal and will not be removed unless they block a door. The bridge is German engineering,I don't think it's possible to add enough locks to collapse the bridge 😉

    What an awesome sight to see. A pickers paradise with a view. I wonder if all the keys are thrown into the river after the locks are placed on the bridge. A beautiful place to profess ones love for another, the moment captured on a lock and attached to the bridge forevermore. What is the position of the Council over there, once the locks are placed on the bridge are they considered personal property still or are they now public property for the Council to remove at any time. Thanks for this video really good to see, cheers

    • @Keymaster
      @Keymaster  4 года назад

      You are right, the keys are in thrown into the river. There was a court decision some years ago, it's not allowed to steal the locks. Only locks that are a problem to the bridge, like locks that block the doors, will be removed. There is a plan to renew the anti-corrosion paint and they will remove the locks for that, but they allow new locks after the maintenance of the bridge.

    In the movie Now You See Me, a similar scene of locks on a bridge is shown.
    There are other places where it’s allowed legally and to be legally picked as well.
    I also would like to point out another movie reference Terminator 2 Judgement Day we the viewer are shown Sarah Conner stealing a large paper clip and holding it in her mouth and spitting it out and opening her locked buckle restraints bending and shaping it to open the key way on the small buckle and than freeing herself which she than breaks the paper clip in half and using one part as a thin tension wrench and the other half as the pick and successfully opens a deadbolt lock for her room.
    My criticism of the scene is the mental hospital must have been using some narrow European locks and key ways that allowed a half of a large paper clip to seat into the bottom of the key way perfectly and still rotate the cylinder as she manipulated the pins.
    The tolerances must have been really light for a lock from the 90’s and the large paper clip must have been very well constructed.

    • @Keymaster
      @Keymaster  4 года назад +1

      I searched for the scene in now you see me. You are right, it's a bridge in Paris and I heard that the love lock cult started in Paris. I was in Paris maybe 5 years ago and I have seen some locks but most of them were removed because they damaged the bridges.

    • @BelmontClan
      @BelmontClan 4 года назад +2

      Keymaster You should look up the scene from Terminator 2 where Sarah escapes and picks the locks,
      That’s something that should be given a closer look just to see how plausible it is to do especially with a single large paper clip.

    • @Keymaster
      @Keymaster  4 года назад +1

      @@BelmontClan I found the clip: ruclips.net/video/ni6mw6Mwfqw/видео.html are there any lock picking scenes in movies that don't look fake? At least she is tensioning the lock.

    • @BelmontClan
      @BelmontClan 4 года назад +1

      Keymaster I agree there that’s why it’s worth mentioning because she’s using a tensioning tool.
      There’s 1995 movie The Saint where as a child the character Simon Templar takes a small pocket knife and fashions a lockpick from the small blade that he first opens a Lever style lock he has a small file that he uses to shape the blade, he has a lapel pin with a crucifix on it that he uses to hold open the cover of the lock he inserts the knife blade and with a few turns overs the lever lock and than opens a door to a girl’s dorm.
      In the scene of Simon Templar shows him in a room with a large lockpick set in a white canvas roll up kit with a large flap on the top.
      The handles appeared to be flat aluminum and the picks appeared to be spring steel with them painted black so given the 90’s the pick set could have been made by HPC better known as Hudson which had many of there picks done in spring steel.
      That’s another one,
      The movie Blue Streak shows the character a thief who’s pretending to be a cop Miles played by Martin Lawerence opens a padlock on a truck with a shank that could fit in his wallet.
      Another well known movie was the remake of Gone In 60 Seconds starring Nicolas Cage, some of the tools of lock picking were shown, lock picking set in black roll out case, manual lock picking gun that was apparently attached to electronic devices which made zero sense when a set of tryout keys/automotive jigglers would have worked faster also given that it was a 90’s movie and they were stealing a lot of late model cars, I did see a slim Jim bar being used to open a door.
      And going back to the 80’s very early 90’s the movie Twins showing the character Vincent played by Danny DeVito using a uniquely bent wire rod with a piece of red rubbery plastic on one end to open a car door in which he tells his brother Julius played by Arnold Shwartzenegger I once say a guy from the auto club do this he unlocks the door and reply’s what do you know beginners luck.
      I’m sure there are other lock picking, lock opening situations in other movies.
      As for one that looked fake fake I give you the opening of the movie XXX staring Vin Diesel. An NSA agent zip lines down on a spear launcher looking thing and grabs something off a bad guy he knocked out, than starts running for cover, comes to a door he can’t open and pulls out a tool that looks like half the size of a Kronos electric pick gun that has a pick pop out at the press of a button that looks like a small saw blade from a Swiss Army knife that makes some loud rattling sounds in the lock it’s stuck in and magically the door is open, the location was Eastern Europe the Chezk Republic.
