Though David Gaudu's translation is very inaccurate. He actually said "I WANT to test MYSELF against the OTHER favourites" not "the two leaders". He then said "I want to see how I feel compared to them, what my level is compared to them, and see what we will to in the next days."
He definitely didn't speak affirmatively about his level, but only conditionally.

Awesome Rogs... Great to see home fitting in with Bora... WTF with Sepp Kuss... Dropping early, not a good sign... Visma really going to miss those 2 riders who abandoned after that crash the other day... Unless Jonas is going to pull a rabbit out a hat Visma may not win a stage let alone the tour...
