He killed this freaking role, RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman.
I honestly can’t think of a single role he didn’t crush. Guy was an amazing talent! RIP!!
Love him in this!!!
PSH should’ve been charged for murder many years ago, because he killed every role he was ever in
BEST MAN IS IN THE HOUSE
Yep went to soon enjoyed watching such a great actor everything he did was fantastic, RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman.
And this is how you steal a movie. What a colossal talent.
Screaming "White chocolate'" as he's driving to the hoop. Frickin hilarious
Every Philip Seymour Hoffman scene in this movie is Oscar worthy.
RIP to the actor that could do it all. He not only destroyed the role as Sandly Lyle but was on such a high level in so many movies. Man, you are sorely missed!
The fact that Philip could do this role and play Capote in the same year and then the villain in Mission Impossible 3 is astounding to me. The man had amazing range.
He was in more movies ?
The basketball scene had me losing it.
“Raindance” 🤣
Pick n roll! Pick n roll! 😂
White Chocolate!
ICE MAN!!
😆
RAIN DANCE!
The seriousness in his voice when he's giving the "I'm your daddy" advice gets me every time. I just love how confident he is as if that is such a normal thing lmao
In fact, it works the spankin thing
Most men are vanilla, they don't spank, *I don't spank,* but I get dumped.
Spanking has *been* vanilla, you my under-a-rock pal have to look up how important choking in bed is for western women.
The seriousness while squeezing grease from one pizza slice to another is what kills me.
It actually works with many women 😂
This movie was 12 times better because of Sandy. RIP🙏🏿
That slip at the beginning was awesome! Doing his own stunts. 😂
This movie was Sandy Lyle.
Let’s cast one of the most renowned character actors in the world for a b quality comedy side kick.
Worked out perfectly 😂
There's nothing that man couldn't do.
Relative to many movies, one could deem this a B film, however, calling this a “B Quality Comedy” is entirely inaccurate. In terms of comedy, this movie is an A.
I mean, he was already hillarious (in a twisted way) years before that in The Talented Mr Ripley. Such an amazing actor.
This is a f**kin' Ben Stiller movie with Jennifer Aniston, from the 00's! Not some _"...b quality comedy..."_ flick.
The film opened at #1 at the box office in the United States, earning US$27,721,185 in its opening weekend, ending the month long reign of _"The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King"._
I think you don't know what you're talking about...
@@yannick245 did you just shart yourself or are you enjoying a terrible sex scene on a boat?
Love how he has both jacket and shirt sleeves rolled up lmao
Thank you , that cracks me up as well.
This man deserved an Oscar for this part
Well, he did once win in 2005 movie: Capote
PSH here and Michael Keaton in The Other Guys
Go away.
Barbies just been nominated, this movie was much better
The irony of Jesus attacking Judas is my favorite moment in cinematic history! Lol
Why
He left a permanent gap in our hearts and the world, one of the best actors EVER!
I know he's done some epic roles, but this will always be my favorite. He just plays this character so well and really made it into something special.
I adore this movie it’s very underrated
Him suddenly singing Jesus´s part is so low key genius and hilarious. His mannerisms during the song make me laugh every time.
I loved how he could take funny, sinister, and serious roles and crush it. Its why I really liked him and was one of the few actors that I would go to the movie to watch because he was in it.
That last "you're God-damnd right I am" almost brings a tear to the eye. PSH will always be missed. A true master. You can see so many other actors turning this role into a steaming heap. And here PSH is nearly making you weep.
Every scene he's in he steals the movie.
When he cuts in over that guy singing is the funniest sht ever
He's Jesus and Judas both. It's hysterical.
The scenes where he kept shooting the basketball on the backboard never make me stop laughing
old school!! 🤣🤣🤣
Rain drops!!
_"White chocolate!"_
ICE MAN!!
Rain Dance!
The invention of the "shart"
Sandy Lyle Is The One Friend We All Need In Life
Not having the wedding scene laugh in here is an absolute fail
Lol yesssssss
He was one of the greats
I love how Sandy pulled it off in the end. RIP PSH.
Alec Baldwins face during Sandy’s speech freaking broke me 😂😂😂😂😂
I used to think this role would be best fitted for a guy like Chris Farley to play it before he passed, but now as I watch this again Philip Seymour Hoffman nailed this.
One of the best characters ever.
One of my all time favorite roles in a comedy.. he murdered it. PsH you'll always be missed!!
The constant clearing of the throat 😂😂😂
I've worked with TONS of people like this, using their Voice to amplify their fake clearing their throat to make their "Presence" felt and to draw attention to their selves in such a Juvenile way.
This was the first role I ever saw him in so I just assumed he was the next Chris Farley, then later when I saw him in MI:3 I was like “wow he really took a turn.” Nope, just an incredible actor.
Such an underrated movie.. so good.. this video is fantastic
Everytime I need a laugh, works everytime
Stole every scene he was in. Genius.
"Want my autograph?"
"Nah, no thanks."
😋😋
As usual, Philip killed the role. My favorite part was the basketball game.
The definition of dude who could play anything
What a tremendously versatile actor. Still sad that he's gone.
Best thing in the movie
Miss Phillip Seymour Hoffman so much. RIP to one of the greatest!
That fall at the wedding gets my every fucking time. ☠️🤣
The movie is essentially disposable except for his performance - he knew exactly what he was doing, chewing up the scenery through and through. God damn, he really was one of the greatest ever. RIP!
I completely forgot how inspiring that insurance pitch scene was...he killed it!
There are some roles that you can't picture anyone else doing, and this is a perfect example of that. His timing slipping on the dance floor was impeccable, Stiller and Hoffman's chemistry was undeniable. Thank you for sharing your talent with us, you are missed by all. Thanks
This is the most underrated role in the most underrated comedy ever.
The Sandy character truly gives us a better grip on what talent is, especially knowing PSH wasn't a comedian.. at all! ...and only trained in drama and theater. 👏 👏 👏
Great comedic performance from an oscar winner. RIP gone too soon
Dude was a riot
I forgot how freaking good Hoffman was in this. Legendary.
The basketball scene was hilarious. 😂😂😂
This was a legendary performance
Lets not bullcrap each other
I swear this role was actually written with Jack Black in mind, and were shocked when they actually overshot and landed Philip Seymour Hoffman 😅
That seems really accurate.
As it turns out, that’s true!! Sandy was originally written in mind to be played by Jack Black. Regardless, PSH knocked it out of the park. To be honest, if it wasn’t for his standout performance, I probably would’ve forgotten about this movie a long time ago.
@@LikeFourOrFiveOtherNames seriously?! No way! Can’t believe I guessed that! JB would have killed it, but that’s amazing they got PSH. That’s a trade up, no insult to JB. Movie would have been pretty mediocre without Hoffman’s performance.
Such an underrated movie and Sandy is such a great character. Always thought a movie could’ve been made about his life.
Sanford Lyle!
Sorry to Ben Stiller and Jen Aniston, but this was PSH’s movie.
His character here is my spirit animal and hero
White chocolate ,raindrops, old school so classic he was equal funny and serious actor He was great as Capote
I say these phrases sometimes when I’m playing basketball.
PSH steals every scene in this film. "WHITE CHOCOLATE!!!!!"
I’m always amazed how serious actors can have such great comedy chops, and vice versa. Comic actors and comedians can make some great dramas.
Right? Like ralph fiennes in the grand budapest hotel. Dude was hilarious in that and he is mainly known for intense dramas and villain roles
Seymour Hoffman...What a phantastic, underestimated actor!!!
I think... there is, (or was), NO OTHER actor EVER, playing his roles so...captivating like HE did!!!
As soon as he entered the screen, I just could not miss any second of his performance!!! Never saw such an intensive and pinpointed way of acting again!!!
this guy is one of the all time greats
INVENTOR OF THE SHART!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Miss this dude!!
"Thank you Stanley"😂😂 "and all of us here at Indurby and Friends"😂😂😂😂
one of my favorite all time characters
White chocolate! OMG PSH was the best. Should have won an Oscar. Comedy gets no respect even when done well. Thanks for posting.
PSH was absolutely incredible in this film! RIP
Such a friggin LEGEND R.I.P.
- You want an autograph?
- Ah, no thanks!
😂😂😂
Gone too soon. A fantastic actor.
LET IT RAIN!
PSH was obviously a phenomenal actor. He could have won best supporting actor for this performance.
Me and my family make a Sandy Lyle quote reference at least once a day
Most underrated actor of all time.
No one thinks he’s underrated
No matter the actor, band, or otherwise, someone in RUclips comments is always bound to say they’re underrated. For the record, Philip Seymour Hoffman won the Academy Award for best actor, and was nominated three times for best supporting actor. How is that underrated?
He won an Oscar, I’m pretty sure we appreciated him while we had him.
"Ice maaaaaan!" Hahaha.
His best moments were every moment
I love Aniston and Stiller but I wouldn't have given this movie a second thought without Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance.
He played this role like it was him for real. Lots of laughs!
I found out too late that PSH was one of the greatest actors ever to perform the craft. Now I go back to bits and pieces of all of his major and minor roles and can't believe he's gone.
Best line, “Judas is biting me!” 😂
Shouldn’t have cut off Stiller’s reaction to him sharting: “You’re the most disgusting person I’ve ever met in my life. 😂😂😂
Certainly one of the most lighthearted and mainstream films P.S. Hoffman was in
Phillip Seymour Hoffman with one of the best comedic performances
Without The Hoff this movie would be long forgotten.
One of THE best characters and and he played it perfectly
You felt good for Sandy at the end knowing he finally succeeded at something since Crocatears
When I remember this movie, I remember this man. Rest in peace God bless your soul Phillip
I've watched this movie a handful of times... not surprising these are the only scenes I remember. Philly Seymore Hoffman, you are missed.
Was on his way to being in discussion of greatest actor of all time.
All of us here at Indurby and Friends … lmao he killed that scene. Just like all the ones in that movie lol
I watch this film just to watch sandy🤣🤣imagine wot he could have became he was a fantastic actor r.i.p
He’s like a gentile Jack Black
ahhh no thanks, is an awesome delivery by the chef dude
First Time I heard the term “sharted” was from Sandy Lyle and I have been grateful ever since. Thanks for the memories PSH!
Such a good movie, truly underated.
Didn't know anyone even noticed Sandy Lyle. Dude was the most gifted actor I've ever seen. There was no character he couldn't become
He should won an Oscar for that presentation!!
The line that flies under the radar: "...and all of us here at Indurby and Friends..."
He was so talented
He was amazing in this movie
His laugh at the wedding toast should gave been included
Those fucken sweatpants i swear he never washed them during the filming lollll
