  • After couple hours of playing Stoneshard (0.8) and number of questions about magic, here is my take on a magic skills tier list!
This is from the perspective of a level 1-2 Jonna just starting her journey!
You can try it for your self here: tiermaker.com/...

My guy, you need to calm down with the editing, its litterally cuts every 3 seconds and its extremely noticable.

    No.
Starting by Jona is bad idia, she is weak in late. Arna must be!
Instead of taking firebalt+fire cirlce, you should take Boulder and Stone Armor. Even if you playing on electromancer or pyromancer. Those two skill you should have in late stage of game for sure, but point in skilling them now - that you can fight versus every mob 1v1 in start with great amlify to defence by Stone Armor with 6+turns, and by using Boulders you can closing path, knockback enemy, curse them, adding turns to SArmor. In case of few overpower mobs in Brynn's dang, probably also have a scence to take dagger skill opening wounds (or staff skills if you use it), because vs Girruds, you can do safety fight only if you locking him by Boulder, using addition stone control skills, or jump to him in meele, and use ur skills in meele, and that will trigger mob to use more meele attacks, than skills what can kill you by few turns pretty easy.

Which mage class would you guys recommend? I'm struggling to decide before I start my adve8.
Was think main staff with 2 skills, one of the mage trees and a bow as a backup?
    Though please? =)

Depends what you like to see... fire has the carnage factor, geo is a little boring to level up but becomes very strong, electro has huge potential. Magic is pretty skill point dependent. At the beginning having extra points spend in weapon skills helps but it might hinder you in the long run. Bows will be a hard sell (without Taking Aim, bows are useless), and all schools have range skills to help. Part of the mage fun is to balance the damage output vs space/distance management vs energy resource.
