- [4K] Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is a roller coaster ride at Disneyland Paris. Unfortunately it's not a dark ride like the one at Disneyland in California and Tokyo DisneySea.
This coaster is one of the most painful Disney rides we have ever been on. We hate the earsmashing restraint. They should just remove the shoulders restraint and add a lap bars instead. Have you guys been on it? Is it painful? Let us know in the comment below.

If they added the same shoulder restraints as Space Mountain so the ride doesn't hurt, and added in music from the movie, this would actually be a great ride.
or maybe just lap bars and it would be more comfortable
I love the way the loop is really hidden, out of sight-out of mind, and then bam. I didn’t expect that first time I watched…
this is the best example how great theming can change how we see a crappy coaster.
It is an off-the-shelf, almost fairground roller coaster. I remember they used to have one at Drayton Manor in the UK which was almost exactly the same piece by piece. It closed down years ago 😆
This one is made by Intamin, whereas the other was made (I believe) by Pinfari.

It will never not be a crap ride. Especially considering it was supposed to be a clone of Anaheim Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure, and they cheaped out and built this off the shelf embarrassment instead. If you ever wondered why this entire corner of the park is essentially empty, that’s why.
The space for the Indy Darkride is still there. It should be built next to it.

BS, this design has absolutely nothing to do with the wild mouse concept.
I got on this at night and assumed it was a dark ride, like Disneyworld. Because it was night, I couldn't see the coaster. Total shock to find it was a coaster with a loop ..and no idea where it was going. Therefore, it was the scariest ride I have ever been on.
imagine this ride going backwards - THAT was the most brutal experience ever, in fact they had to change it back due to complaints^^
I did it! and the looping backwards was so strange like a punch in the stomach! they need to add the soft protections as seen in Tokio Disney Sea.
Space Mountain but especially this rollercoaster at Disneyland Paris are in desperate need for a complete retrack. They're old and you can feel it. Temple of Peril was never supposed to be a permanent ride. It was quickly added in 1993 because the park lacked rides and was to be demolished when the Indiana Jones temple complex would be built. That sadly never happened. With this ride on its last legs it would be the moment to actually build the temple complex! Finally build the darkride and let them do their version of Universal's Donkey Kong mine cart rollercoaster. It's ideal for it! But it's Disneyland Paris, so I expect nothing...
I rode this last month - I was fine. WDW MK Space Mountain, back pain - so much back pain! …and DCA Goofy ride is another awfully painful ride
Looks like a tame, mellow ride - not overly bumpy and jerky. Exactly what makes it the "painful ride ever?"
In his descriptionbox he said "We hate the earsmashing restraint. They should just remove the shoulders restraint and add a lap bars instead." When you wobble around on a ride like this, its painful to have to hit your head every 2 seconds. Plus the neckpains you will feel the next day are horrible. With lap bars its more comfortable.

It's VERY painful. Your head gets smacked back and forth between the unpadded headrest. Both my ears were in pain when I got off.
The ride is on its last legs. It's a brain blender. They even have a sign in the queue telling you how to sit during the ride! At least they had the last time I was there two years ago.
I rode it last year. First, the seats are a straight up L shape with no contour for your back, and they're super cramped. Then the restraint comes down, and it locks you in so that you can barely move your head. The restraint is so close to your head, you have maybe an inch or two on each side, and it's hard as a rock. Every little lateral jerk in the track causes you to smack the side of your head off the restraint.
It's on my list of 'never ride again' coasters, usually reserved for Vekoma SLCs and SBF's Spinning Wild Mouse coaster.
The random inversion on a mine type coaster is great. I want this in my backyard.
Most painful I ever been on by far was "Z-Force" at Six Flags Georgia, their "Great American Scream Machine" woodie is 2nd place

This ride can be rough but it doesn’t have to be, it does take a little effort though. I always ride this coaster with my shoulders pressing a bit against the restraints instead of relaxing them. When you do that, your head won’t bounce between the restraints
If you know the trick, the ride is 0% painful and actually a hidden gem. Easily my favorite ride at the resort.

We were there in 2000 and they had the ride going backwards… we were nauseous for 2 hours. 😂

I think theming of ride looks excellent just missing something like music maybe. It’s short and maybe track could help with a little update but I always love going on this ride
no problem for us ever......going backwards however when they switched was horrendous

The most painful ride is this wooden coaster they used to have at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Is this the same one I rode in December 2002? I remember that one went backwards too...
For a while they ran it backwards, they stopped doing it with one of the referbs a while back.
The first modification this ride got was the addition of a loop. Then they made it go backwards for some time. And eventually it has been this for years now.

They have to be over the shoulder restraints because the coaster goes inverted
This one is deceiving. It doesn't "look" painful compared to some other rides. I hope to get to Dland Paris some day

Fix the video title, you were my favorite ride channel, I'm highly disappointed now.
This ride is such a disappointment, especially when compared to the great Indy rides in California and Tokyo. Paris unfortunately continues to be the worst Disney park by far.

@@naoufal8954The foundation by Tony Baxter is great but everything added since that time has been ugly and slapdash. I was a DLP AP for a couple years but unfortunately the park outside the core is really subpar. And the Studios park sucks, it’s worse than a Six Flags.
Tokyo DisneySea actually also has this rollercoaster. It's named Raging Spirits over there and has slightly different theming. It's right next to the Indy darkride, unlike Disneyland Paris, which still has a big empty expansion plot for it.

Disney did a major refurb of the ride before Covid but improved almost nothing. Didn’t even add on-ride audio. Disney is super cheap with the Paris parks.

A very poor excuse for a "themed" ride. This has nothing to do with the Indiana Jones movies. Compared to the Californian "Indiana Jones Adventure" ride, this Paris version is crap!
Tokyo DisneySea has its own mini Indiana Jones land. It has the darkride and right next to it Raging Spirits, which besides a different name and slightly different theming is the same rollercoaster. They've got what should have happened at DLP, after the temple complex wasn't happening. There's still a giant expansion plot for it.
