My cousin "Bubba " ( Ps. we are from the south) decided he wanted to go ice fishing last year , So he loaded up his truck and headed north to find a frozen lake . We didn't see him for a while . He finally showed up about a week later with his hands all bandaged up . I said "Lord have mercy Bubba did you get frost bite on your hands" ? He said "No, Blisters". "Blisters" I said inquisitively , Well did you catch any fish? Bubba looked at me and shook his head no , Then he explained " I chopped Ice for five days and never did get a hole big enough to put the boat in so I quit and came on back home". lol

We had a pickup go through the ice this past weekend on long lake in St Agatha. Glad you found some good ice.
I'm not a fan of driving vehicles on the ice...no matter how thick it is.

Ahhh I'm very very very very jealous that you are on ice and 9" of it 🤯 the Great lakes are not playing well this year with all the warm weather and we've been out in the boats trolling for walleye, salmon and trout and have done really good but nothing beats ice fishing 😢
Such a weird winter. I'd love some snow to bomb around on the old Everest 444, snowshoe, winter camp.....what is the point of winter in Maine without any of those things? 🙁
