I went from 4 purchased nukes to 20 my 1st year. Do you have any advise on my journey to 50 operating colonies by the fall of 25?

Thank you for the video, Justin. I have a couple questions. I’m just curious, do you use a solid bottom board or screen bottom board? Also, I see your colonies are numbered. Do you use those numbers to take notes on all the colonies?

I use solid bottom boards. The research doesn’t seem to support screened bottom boards making a quantitative difference in mite loads and solid bottoms are much stouter when it comes to moving colonies.
I use the numbers mostly for keeping track of major issues and for keeping up with really good performers for genetics.

@@DysonApiaries Thank you, Justin. I appreciate the info on how your keep bees. I’m learning every day. I have another question if you don’t mind. Do you ever use slatted racks ?

Never used them. The theory is good, just never used them. One more piece of equipment that is an absolute necessity on my tight budget.
