Wow! What an absolutely stunning place. Forget photographs, ha! Just being there I'm sure is a fantastic get-away, which is what it seems you had in mind the most. This is a good example of how many things have to come together to get a photograph that you're happy with, plus the added challenge of creating a vlog for RUclips. I just love seeing these beautiful places you show that I've only seen in movies and just don't portray how wonderful it is, I'm sure nothing beats actually being there though. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Liesl. Yes it is such a beautiful. I slept for most of the week and didn't really want to do any photography which is rare for me but I guess I needed it. The people are so friendly, you would love it there. It's only around $200 for a week from here. I guess it's more from Texas, but I'm sure there are some amazing places near you too. Even if it is just something different, which is why I enjoy seeing your vlogs too.

That's a great deal! My husband and I would both love to go, but our kids' college and some other things are sucking our funds dry at the moment LOL

Not to worry, as soon as the kids finish college and pay you back for everything you can do it then 😏

Great video John, you was almost talking yourself out of taking a shot, then you come up with a fantastic image, I new you would, and that you would work it out, hope you had a great holiday.Regards.

Thank you very much Colin. You are right, I had already talked myself out of taking any serious photos before we even got there because I was so tired. However by the end of the week I had felt better and wanted to get back into it but only had one sunset left so I had to make it work and I was very lucky. I'm glad you liked it.

Hey John, what a beautiful place. You had a bit of a tough journey to this image, but all worth it in the end. The image at 11:45 is great, I really like the detail in the concrete against the smooth glass like water with the reflections of the clouds in it and the vignette really pushes the eye along the pier. As photographers we have to persevere with shots like this as we don't know when we will visit a place like this again, got to capture the memory if nothing else 😀 Well done mate 👍 I have had my fair share of tough journeys to an image like this too and I usually resort to the old school black and white high contrast at midday shot 😂 Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Jim. It is so much easier to get great photos in a beautiful place. To be honest, the locations of the other shots I had lined up weren't great so I didn't really miss out. I was just lucky with this jetty and the clouds. I need to start taking more photos during the day. If it's not the golden hour I don't bother and miss so many opportunities. I also need to perfect my black and white processing first. All the best.

@@JohnGreenwoodPhotography Yeah, I am with you there. I am a golden/blue hour addict and I really need to push myself to shoot in some different lighting situations, get back to my roots with some black and white, should be fun.
