Hello, we hope you are doing alright. We offer an online alcohol program, if that could help you, you can learn more information here: riahealth.com/. Some people need in-person support so please consider that as well if needed. We wish you the best. ♥️

I went to get help with our mental health services and I got the same answer. They can't do anything until I stop drinking. It's a completely backwards approach.

I started the Sinclair method on 8th of July. Before that I could drink 4,5 liter beer each session. Now it is decreasing steadily already within the first month. 4 days ago it was 1 liter of beer, Yesterday 1 can of halve a liter of beer, and that i found was enough. Today nothing. I am losing interest in drinking. It is also because my tolerance for drinking decreases, i start to feel it working sooner. I think the less you drink in a week, the change you drink more the next time decreases because you get drunk sooner. The tolerance goes down. Also the Naltrexone taken one hour before helps with it..It is also because my tolerance for drinking decreases, i start to feel it working sooner. I think THE problem is gettin the Naltrexone in the first place. I bet most doctors in the Netherlands do not know the Sinclair method.

@@patriciapaes9674 I know. She helped me to start up the method, for example making a Dutch letter to give my doctor, in order to get Naltrexone. And we had online sessions to discuss. So now I did not drink anything for about 20 months.

How random to see someone on a panel and go isn't that Samantha I used to know from Shea Hampton's acting class? Anyhow, congratulations! Sounds amazing how you've come through this so successfully. I've dabbled with naltrexone for like a decade now but have never really committed to it. Maybe I heard about the Sinclair method like an over decade ago but the only way I could get the drug was ordered it from India lol. So glad things have changed. My doctor has no problem prescribing it.
I've dabbled, I know it works, its incredible, but for whatever reason didn't take it often enough . Probably figured Oh I'm strong enough, I can restrain myself without any help lol. Needless to say that's completely delusional.
So up and down with the alcohol abuse at times but now I am done. I'll be completely devoted and probably will for the most part consider myself a non drinker but maybe occasionally allowing myself while taking it. Thanks for these videos and Sam for sharing your story. Nice to see you and you're a great inspiration.

I still have 25 mg from the start, that is pill cut in halve. I got the advice to start with 25 mg for the first weeks. I would suggest to keep making the drinking graph. At least record everyday how many minutes you started drinking after taking the pill. And how many drinks you had at the end. But if you have 50 mg, i do not think you should go higher, at least for the first weeks. Maybe if you still drink too much, you should start trying to drink slower or something. Or start later.
1 Week is far too little time to judge. Me about 1 month and i start to see results. It could take several months or more, depending on the person. And do not overthink, let's go natural. At some point you might see small changes, fore example drinking 5 beer cans instead of 9, or you notice you take more time to drink a beer can. Or you are looking at a beer can, and you have no interest, while normaly that would be empty in a minute or so.

That is a great question -- definitely ask your doctor about this one!

Increasing dosage above 50mg in not necessary for the vast majority of people on TSM, especially after only 7 days.
Dr Sinclair's research showed that 50mg was the optimum dosage to block the opioid receptors in the brain. Increasing the dosage will not block any more receptors.
Increased dosage above 50mg naltrexone is only likely for a very few patients, if they ave absorbtion issues, like having had gastric surgery etc. Only, then if every other option has been tried.
