  • Preparing for the holidays when in recovery can be essential. Whether you are in recovery from substance use or behavioural addictions, mental health challenges, or relationship changes.
    Here are some steps to guide you..
    Have Boundaries:
    -Practice saying NO!
    -Plan out your experience: drive yourself, bring what you need like non-alcoholic beverages or 0% alcohol, practice polite excuses, remind people of your changes.
    -Have an exit strategy
    Identify your recovery buddy
    -Develop a self-soothing kit
    -Be mindful of your spending!
    -Continue your daily routine
    -Spend time outdoors
    -Practice gratitude: for self, others, and situations!
    -Continue to connect with others
    -Use helplines when needed
    -Remember BE KIND TO YOURSELF!
    Self-compassion is key in our day-to-day, and essential during difficult times.
