And it almost never works out after the initial few game bounce, the ones that have worked out almost never get the big job as their first one, they start at smaller clubs or as an assistant.

so why not retire right after the 2018 season? You know, BEFORE free agency, BEFORE the draft. Why retire literally a few weeks before the start of the season? His timing is what the team hasn't recovered from. That offseason, Kyler Murray and Daniel Jones were in the draft (Colts would have to, and probably wouldn't, trade up to get either, but who knows) and Ryan Tannehill, a younger Nick Foles, Teddy Bridgewater and Case Keenum were traded. Also, the Colts o-line was not the sole reason for his injuries. He played reckless and took a lot of unnecessary hits. In the offseason after he tore his labrum, he had a snowboarding accident that sprained an AC joint in his throwing shoulder. Also, after a healthy 2018 season, the best of his career stats-wise, how did he hurt his calf or ankle or whatever it was that led to his retirement? No one to this day knows.

The Colts biggest weakness has been O line. They just hired one of the most effective Centers in history to coach the team. Its not that shocking really. They desperately need to fix that issue.

Comparing Tony Dungy to Jeff Saturday?? Looks like dementia has fully set in for Mr. Irsay.

Indeed, that cold hard analytical hiring process wasn't difficult given Dungy had just turned around the Bucs franchise for the first time in its history. I'd also assume Bill Polian was responsible for the interviews and hiring.

I just want to know the name of the bar where the job interview was conducted. Booz had to be
    Part of the hiring process!!

This might be one of the biggest examples of nepotism in the history of the nfl

Are Irsay and Saturday related to each other?

I don’t think that word means what you think it means. Nepotism requires a family member benefitting otherwise it’s called paying your dues, aka knowing the right people. He’s a HOF level player with knowledge many coaches would dream of, he will be just fine.

The odds are he has very little knowledge compared to just about any coach.

@@ngc-fo5te Nah, The O-Line is by far the biggest problem the Colts have currently. He's an O-Line Expert and they wanted to hire him to fix it previously. Now if he can just fix that issue, they Colts will be better, even if they lose all their games. They won't get blown out as bad.
