His analysis is so spontaneous and clear, it's like hearing Lebron James breakdown a basketball play. Both have mastered the game to an extent where they take in what's happening in the moment and make split-second reads and make the right call. It was Devon's best performance in a few years.
    His training is next level. His stem cell recovery method is next level, his table moxy is unmatched. He found another gear after Genadi.
    At the table he finally focused his energy on pure technical aspects in the setup, and what he needed to do during the pull to stay in control. So by his power and moxy, Ermes knew he had no chance.
    Prior, him trying to shame a guy emotionally at the table only did 2 things: create adrenaline in his opponent and, take himself out of his zone.
    If your strength, technique and moxy pierce the other guy so that he tells himself he has no chance, that is true domination, and anyone watching can see it. Trying to showboat or emotionally shame the other guy risks losing the ability to dominate the other man completely, like he was able to do yesterday.
    And personally, having his son there could not be a better grounding force for the man to be at his best. His son is able to give spot on feedback or ask the right questions to keep Devon's tactical mind present between rounds as well!

      @yournightmareracing1754 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@treedogg Genadi is a force and beat Devon where most, including myself, thought Devon was superior. Genadi had better endurance than Devon.
      Regardless of the reason for the match getting to those last 2 rounds, Genadi overwhelmed Devon in endurance and power.
      Top guys right now in no particular order imho:
      Levan, Devon, Zaur, Dennis, Genadi, Georgi (sp), Vitally. I think over the next year, it will work itself out to having a clear #1.
      If Devon prevails over the next year, then drops weight and beats Ongarbaev, he could retire arguably as the Co-GOAT.
      You can never, not ever take away from what John accomplished. But if Devon does that, he will have forever earned that title.
      There's a lot to be said for going out on top, but he loves it so much he may continue to pull after that. Lol

    This is what happens when Devon goes in with a finish-first focused mindset, rather than playing with his food. Not saying he's going to beat Levan or anything, but he can beat Gennady and maybe even Cyplenkov.

    • @heath_00000
      @heath_00000 11 месяцев назад

      I imagined it would be backwards. Devon would easily beat Tsyplenkov, and still lose to Genadi.

    I think the biggest surprise for almost everyone (esp Ermes and Devon) was the lack of clear power difference where it matters.
    It's like Bruce Lee said "plates, don't pronate back" 😁
    Congrats to both warriors, this was a massive learning experience for the young gladiator.

    • @amporg1285
      @amporg1285 11 месяцев назад +6

      I think there is clearly a significant power difference between those two, Devon just didn't let Ermes use it, just like Ermes vs Jerry. To me the fact that he believes they're equal in power is just absurd. Look at how Ermes opened Devon with 1 surge when he came in the hook, Devon knew he couldn't go inside

    • @outermarker5801

      @@amporg1285 If you think this was 'just like Ermes and Jerry', well ok then lol.
      And I did very clearly qualify my statement about strength difference. But hey, go preach to the internet full of pundits applauding Devon's power, I guess they don't see what you saw either.

    • @amporg1285
      @amporg1285 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@outermarker5801 I see Devon's arm getting opened in the hook in the 3rd round. Try pulling with your wrist and pronator taken and your shoulder not engaged you'll see how much power you can apply. If you didn't see this well you didn't watch the match. Hats off to Devon, but let's just be real, there are videos which prove how much raw power they have, you forgot about Ermes vs Levan? It just a matter of pronation and hand strength

      The reason why Devon used the move was because he was unhealthy/weak at one time. He never truly recovered from his surgeries. He recovered recently after Stem Cells.
      There is a video that shows his MRI. His elbows are basically destroyed :/

    Somethings I want to emphasize here :
    -Yes Ermes accepted that match on a short notice but in my opinion he was ready for the match, It's not like Jerry was a challenge for him
    -This version of Devon was stronger than ever but he also finished the match as quick as possible and it made a huge difference. If he did that against Genadi, it would had been 3-0 all day.
    -120-125kg BW for Devon seems to be the perfect weight for him to be powerful and also keep his endurance high, no heavy breath during the match! No need for him to go higher than that, extra body fat does nothing for you in armwrestling.
    -I always thought Revaz had the potential to be number 1 but it seems that his hand endurance is very very low, and that's a bad spot for him to be as a toproller, if he doesnt fix it he'll never be at the top.
