Niiiice, put it to the TEST. I'm curious on where you got the aftermarket stem/bar riser & the manufacturer. Thnx. Also, I'm plan on purchasing one, thnx to your UPGRADED parts vids & my research..... I'm very curious on that stem/bar riser tho looks sold. Thnx
Thanks! I need to put up another upgrade video soon, I made some changes and added a few additional items. I switched out the Himalo fork for a Manitou Mastodon Pro STD which is a single crown fork and has a tapered head tube and therefore required a new headset (44mm top, 56mm bottom outside diameter bearings) and wheel (15mm through axle). The stock fork has a straight head tube. The new headset has sealed bearings and is an improvement over the stock. The bar clamp is the one that came with the bike and I reused the stock spacer since the bar height was right for me. They have an option to buy the headset for a straight tube fork if you are using the stock fork, Himalo, or another branch with a straight tube. I put a comment in the upgrade video that goes into more detail about the additional upgrades I have made since I made this video. I am not an engineer but the weakest point seems to be the single pivot point where it attaches to the frame. The tabs that it mounts to are pretty thick and welded on all 4 sides but they mount directly to the rear side of the aluminum box that the controller is in. I inspect this area on a regular basis and so far I don't see any cracks in the welds or deformation on the box. I think I'll take the cover off of the box and see if there are any gussets behind the tabs. If there are I would feel a bit better about it. UPDATE: I took the cover off and while there are no gussets I feel pretty good about the durability of the design. The box is made of 1/4" aluminum and the build quality is great.
