That is what happens when two titans join forces. Chad's playing is unmatched and Jack's skills second to none! I have a lot of respect for both of you. Congrats!
Chad LB - without a doubt among the coolest and most relaxed contemporary sax players... And what an artist, with amazing skill and musicality... Great what he does for promoting appreciation and education for sax music, I've been listening much more sax since I discovered Chad LB....
So much good stuff here. The weight of a lot of modern horns just kills the fun of playing them, so having an intelligent conversation of why this "simple" thing really matters is just fantastic. The practical aspect of just making the keys light (man, a lot of modern horns have springs like a freaking truck), nice to see. Jack, we've never met, but you've really a great presentation style, enthusiastic and so knowledgeable. Nice job, Chad! Congratulations to you both!
Raw materials are just that, raw materials. The most important aspect of how a sax plays is based on how it is set up by the technician, and Jack is a master of his craft.
@@elliottbrown5151 I don't think so : the alloy + the process + the thickness makes a big difference. I guess from Taiwan as well. I was also thinking not only about the quality of the sound but also the value chain of production of such saxophone. Where goes your money.
@@someoneyoudontknow3257 exactly what I thought, however they did not mention that in the video. While it would be the first thing I d do. The neck got me very interested!
So who actually makes the horn? P. Mauriat? LC? Or did you get a totally new taiwanese/chinese startup to produce a totally new line of tubes and keys? I would guess this saxophone already exists from some other brand in terms of actual bore specifications.
This is seriously cool! I love the way you talk about the history behind vintage instruments too. I'd love to know the stories behind my Hilton 241 tenor and Buescher Aristocrat alto, primarily how they ended up in the UK.
Chad, congratulations on the beautiful sax. Great done by both of you! Is the Nexus one or select selling in the UK and where could I go to see and play test. Very interested in investing on my 1st great Tenor saxophone 🎷 😀 Thanks
Considering all the thought and attention to details, I thought these saxes would be priced considerably higher. How much weight were you able to take off of the sax?
Great question, thank you! There is a 7 day return policy so you can get it shipped directly to your home and try it to be sure! There’s just a 7% cleaning and restocking fee that applies to a return. For reference, this information can be found on the contact/policies page at www.nexussaxophones.com
I don't understand how a sax can improve with age. Guitars and violins are made of wood which will change over time and sometimes produce wonderful sounds. I'm not saying it ain't so. I just don't understand it. Clarification??
he studied what worked in the past with popular horns and used actual player feedback to produce a solid horn? with technology advancing musical instruments are going to get better
I don’t understand it either. But I can tell you that a sax which is regularly played or has thousands of hours play on it absolutely sounds better than the same model out of the box or that has been in an attic for years no doubt
@@comhghallgeraghty3541 I can see how a horn that has sat in a case for months or years would have gummed up key work and leaking pads. I've found that playing them improves them.
Cars are made to be driven. Saxes are made to be played. I guess pretty much anything brand new need some time to break in and eventually reach its optimal level or performance.

Is it possible to put a Nexus Oracle Ligature on an Alto Sax mouthpiece?

Jack and Chad, All the best with your new product line. It's great to see two devoted saxophone enthusiasts partner together.

Incredible work. Thank you for everything that you do for the saxophone community!!!!
Where is it manufactured? you only mention that it s assembled in USA . It's important to let buyer know. thanks :)
Taiwan I guess.

@blake Dme too!
Same Here!!!
I follow
Wow wow and wow! Congratulations Chad and Jack. Any chance you have plans to do a run of altos? A straight alto option??
Wait, every product is tested by Chad? The thought of Chad’s holy lips blowing air into an instrument that I own is nex level.
Kinda creepy

top, instrument and quality brand, and I follow you a lot I'm from Brazil.
Yes! Finally! Congratulations on launching the new products!
I ordered mine!!! Can’t wait to play it!
how the neck compares to the bss heritage neck? looks similar to me? (don't get me wrong, the heritage neck is awesome, I got one!)
This is fabulous. Any plans to make an alto?
Yes Sirs, can’t wait to get my hands on one!!!
I'm confused...is the body of the horn made by a major manufacturer and then it gets pimped out by you? Or is the entire process proprietary?
Very nice! Love it!
nice, so where do these saxophones come from? Where are they bought from? You say to customise it but wher does the basic model come from?
I am absolutely excited about Nexus!
Very interesting stuff!
So they are made in China and assembled in Boston?
I think so...:-)
They don't like to talk about it
I think it's made in Taiwan, not China.
Fukking incredible! That you are! I wish you all the success in the world! How many men would actually build a better mousetrap! Kudos!!!
I wish you would give one-on-one private lessons 😄
can't wait to get my edge mouthpiece!
Hello Chad .... I am stephen from HK .... any Alto model in future 🙌🙌🙌 .... Thanks Teacher 👍👍
Very nice. price point it perfect too!
Really nice sound!! To me it comes across like a Conn New wonder ii/chu berry. I'm sure the ergonomic s are not same!!
Congrats on the horn, Chad!
Do you have plans for an alto saxophone in a near future?

It's all about the gear
So there’s no high F# key???
No f# is a deal breaker for me, but that does make the horn lighter, but not worth the trade off.
I love your saxophones sound Chad. You are legend. Beautiful music Chad🌹🙏❤🤩
difference between the select and the standard?
What are the best sax brands ?
Waou ❤
Hi Chad (and Jack). What model mic are you using please?
😍😍😍
Any plans for an alto?
Hell of a bad time to lose my job... Maybe the next run
Is there a way we could play test it before ordering the saxophone?

Very nice Student level horn
Cool but too expensive
my tenor sounds like a samurai sword fight compared to this quiet af nexus tenor

Mechanics get smooth? I guess that's about it. Brass for sure doesn't age in any way that would change the tone of the instrument.
