I have been baptised by his music. I always loved jazz, classical, all that stuff. But nothing i could hear came close to Yoko Kanno's piano-jazz sound when doing Cowboy Bebop. Giovanni though, he does it for me. I don't get turned on by just any music, but him, love it. Just like I love yoko kanno.
Sigh... Giovanni should come more often to play in his native country! I only heard him live once in may 2011. The elegance of his lines and the way his solos develop reminds me of Kenny Barron.
@Barbapippo WTF ? Wherever he might be, from Italy, France or anywhere else, he is a one of the best piano player and a great improvisator ... One of my dreams should have been to see him playing with Petrucciani (also an Italian name ;-) unfortunately it is not anymore possible ...
