I'm putting the Nolan review series on PAUSE after this video. The series intended to lead up to TENET, and at the moment it has no release date. I'll continue when we have a release date to create a schedule around.
You should probably pin this so people don’t keep asking you about the Inception review.

But u already did 2 of the 3 Batman movies!!!! 1 more please!!😂

When the next movie review was gonna be inception :( all good tho lol
Do you wanna know how I got these scars? My father was a drinker, and a fiend. And one night, he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He turns to me, and he says, "Why so serious?" He comes at me with the knife. "Why so SERIOUS?!" He sticks the blade in my mouth-"Let's put a smile on that face!" Aaaand... Why so serious?
(Heath Ledger 2008)
OMG
I love how gambol is completely frozen even though his hands are free, he’s too scared to do anything cuz he knows the joker kill knife him to death with the scar story. In his last moments, he was truly a man abused by an alcoholic father in his childhood.
The only problem I have is that this sounds like something Victor Zsasz would say
@Bradyn Kerr from Joker.
nah he just tripped while flossing thats how he got his scars
Let’s be real, Heath Ledger as the Joker is what made the dark knight such an incredible movie and his performance as the joker is some of the greatest acting we’ve ever seen on the screen! Ledger is my favorite live action version of the Joker and The Dark Knight is my favorite Batman movie of all time.
Batman returns 1992 is the best batman cant see it ever being beaten. Michelle Pfeiffer Danny devito Christopher walken . Amazing score. Tim burton at his best. Best christmas movie ever. Dare I say it even better than die hard. Nuff said.
His performance was breathtaking
@@nicketheridge9431 Wholeheartedly agree with you 👌

The Dark Knight is one of the greatest films ever, that's just a fact. I'm pretty sure everybody can agree with me.

The Dark Knight is probably my favorite film of all time. I love Nolan, and this and Inception are some of my favorite movies of all time. The positives are endless. Everything about this film works. However, no movie is perfect. If I could give one negative, the love triangle could have been more well executed, but still a very good movie. 10/10, go out and buy it and watch it.
Sean Anderson why not both
Sean Anderson yes tdkr is better imo
eating sugar no papa No, it’s absolutely spectacular. Maybe it didn’t resonate with you or you just didn’t find yourself enjoying it as much as others, that’s fine. It’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. But objectively, it is beyond amazing. Like he said, it is a near perfect film with an amazing plot, amazing characters, amazing philosophy and views on morality. Also, the execution is flawless. The practical effects are insane, the score is exhilarating, the makeup is iconic and the minimal CGI (mainly Two-Face’s face) looks great.
Edit: I forgot to mention the acting. Oldman’s great, Cain’s great, Gyllenhaal’s great, Bale’s great. But Eckhart and Ledger are just absolutely incredible.

Bradyn Kerr all of those are really good and definitely in the top 10 but the only one you could actually make the case for being better than the dark knight is infinity war. The Dark Knight is simply better than all the other movies you listed.
@Bradyn Kerr imagine being pathetic like this. GOTG and winter soldier were entertaining but not 10 miles within TDK as a film. From where so many idots come here if they even didn’t understand the movie?
It is considered by some as a top 5 film of all time. If I am correct IMDB has as its number 4 film of all time. Truly one of if not the best crime thrillers of all time.

One of the best trilogies ever
@Bradyn Kerr bro you're reading my mind!
Planet of the apes trilogy is up there too
@Bradyn Kerr And Lord of the Rings
Also love evil dead
LOTR is the amazing
Star wars is the best
@PS Effect captain america the first avenger was average. Batman begins average.
Indiana jones trilogy overall best. 3 quality films.
Star wars up there.
Most trilogies have a below average 3rd film finale. They mock that in scream 3.
This was actually the first Batman movie I watch when I was younger
Must’ve been kind of underwhelming when you saw every other Batman movie 😂
This movie I saw in the theaters when I was five years old and this is what introduced me to Batman who is now my favorite superhero. I also grew up with the Tim Burton Batman movies which are great, and Joel Schumacher Batman movies which are pretty bad.
By far this is the best superhero movie ever made but I am so fucking excited for the Robert Pattinson Batman movie it looks so incredible and is my most anticipated movie of 2022.
I really loved Ledgers Joker, RIP I wish he saw the end result of his masterpiece role 😢 😢 😢
25:22 I get what you’re saying here, but I don’t necessarily agree. I don’t think he was just doing it to hook up with Rachel, he just wanted to settle down and have a normal life. Alfred explains this in TDKR with the whole café sequence, and we actually see it at the end of the film.
This is an awesome movie. I went into thinking can this top Batman Begins. It certainly did. My only disappointment was that we didn’t get to see more of Two Face in a later movie. Aaron Eckhart’s portrayal of Harvey Dent/Two Face was way better than Tommy Lee Jones’ performance in Batman Forever. Heath Ledger was awesome as the Joker and so sad he died. RIP Heath Ledger.
Heath Ledger’s Joker is probably the greatest performance of all time. Him and Daniel Day Lewis in both There Will Be Blood and Lincoln are the greatest performances of all time. Such a shame he passed before he could see the impact his character had.
Al Pacino as Michael Corleone comes to mind
There’s plenty of performances that r just as good if not better imo
@@cecilabbott6092 MAYBE , maybe as good but you can't get better than Heath's Joker.
Cecil Abbott Performances on Ledger’s level can’t really be compared to one another. Let’s be honest, his performance was perfect in every way and other roles like that aren’t better or worse. It’s just chalks down to personal preference and things like impact on the industry, the quality of the film itself and improv, character traits, etc. But since the Joker is an amazing character in an amazing film, I’d say Heath Ledger’s Joker is the cream of the crop.
Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs
One of my favorite films.
Nolan is a phenomenal filmmaker, and The Dark Knight is one of my favourite films of all time!!
It is my favorite
Still to this day, still the best Batman movie and my favorite Nolan film. Such a masterpiece work of cinema and complex storytelling.

My third favorite superhero movie of all time
Not to argue against you or anything but when you talked about Joker’s plan to involve conveniences, that was the point. This Joker was always just winging it. Especially because in a lot of situations in the movie, doesn’t matter what the result is, he still “won”.
Exactly
Totally agree. People saying that Jokers plan has holes, because how did he know he would Get caught when he was ext. Joker probably just said to his men. «i’m just gonna keep on doing shit until I Get caught, then send in the bomb guy»
I do agree with most of the negatives but the harvey plotline was exactly what it needed to be for this film to work. they painted him out to be the most well respected DA which is exactly what the city needed. however he was easily corrupted, which played in perfectly to the jokers plan (even though he said hes not a guy with a plan). at the end of the day the joker knew he couldnt win it with a fist fight, he won it by truly breaking batman, he broke harvey, he broke the city. true infinty war style villain wins it in the end. best movie of all time.

It's so difficult to point out any flaws with the Dark Knight ,apart from the fact that the two face did not appear for a long as I wanted
Bradyn Kerr how is the last part a flaw?
Bradyn Kerr also I disagree with the suit criticism and action (the action wasn’t great by any means but it’s watchable unlike bayformers or something really bad
I think the movie, while a good film, is overrated haha
Two Face was turned from a interesting character that has multi-personality disorder (the animated series does him the best) into a joke. He's evil now because his girlfriend died. Like that could have been any character, but two face? Robbed man.
Vortex1003 two face/ dent is one of my favorite parts of the movie eckhart killed it

6. THE DARK KNIGHT
5. Brokeback Mountain
4. Mulholland Dr.
3. Spirited Away
2. The Pianist

Great list, I'd also add the Assassination of Jesse James, incredibly underrated western from 2007 (one of the best years for film imo)
Roko Moric, The Incredibles?
The Dark Knight is my favorite movie of all time. It came out when I was 14. I still remember thinking the film would end after the introduction of Two Face and was relieved there was more!
We will never get such a grounded and impactful comic book film again

Heath Ledger's performance was absolutely legendary. I feel like the ENTIRE cast was perfect for this story and Nolan brings forward so many moralistic questions on a level that no superhero movie before 2008 ever did. Truly a game changer in every way. Thanks for the great content, Sean! Looking forward to more.

My favorite/best movie of all time.
Just saw this movie back in cinemas over here in Ireland in IMAX. I still absolutely adore this movie and I’m definitely in the same boat that this is the best superhero movie ever created. 🙌
The Dark Knight is a legend. Love that film. Instant classic. Dark Knight is my favorite film of all time. Filmmaking is fantastic, actors are fantastic, and direction is fantastic. It’s pretty perfect.
I think I watched this when I was like 5 or 6 and two face was so scary , I would watch up until Gordon visits Harvey in the hospital then turn it off for a long time 😬😂
The first time I watched the dark night I thought it was a average super hero movie, however when I rewatched it I realized how good it really was. The Joker and two face are both amazing villains and the action in this movie is fantastic. All in all this is just a great movie.
Fantastic movie. Heath Ledger couldn’t have portrayed the Joker any better and it’s a tragedy we won’t get to see any more performances like this from him. I still prefer BB just because I’m a sucker for origin stories but this is right next to it. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are my two favorite Nolan movies by far
Yes! I watched the trilogy for the first time this week and boy was it phenomenal. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time.
I don’t know what movie I love the most iron man or the the dark knight
I personally prefer the dark knight, iron man is great but for the dark knight is my 2nd favorite movie
@Sean Anderson me or him?
I’m probably in the minority here but I think the dark night is a better film but I enjoy iron man more and I think it is a lot more rewatchable
Hands down best superhero movie ever made. By the way I'm loving the batman nerd cave you have going on there.
I obviously think that it is a great film. BUT I never believed it to be a great BATMAN film. Nolan just made a crime thriller with Batman characters and the characters feel reallyyy detached from the comics
I might be wrong but I was told the reason heath died was Because he locked himself in an apartment for a few weeks so he could go insane to be better at playing the role. Because of this, he started having trouble sleeping, so he started taking sleeping pills. The sleeping pills are what killed him
It’s true
That is most Iikely accurate
that is what people said but that is false the movie didn't kill him
Stop. The man suffered from bad anxiety, which can lead to terrible insomnia. He was stressed out and accidentally overdosed. It was tragic, let it rest.
Mony I literally said I might be wrong
Sean bro u forgot to point out how the beginning staging scenes after the bank heist is just weak & boring with bad sound mixing, also the plot isn't all engaging like most make it out to be, in a way we can say had it not been for the morally complexity narrative & a powerful supervillain, this movie would've become Nolan's weakest batman movie. Also batman getting overshadowed & him being so lean & the fighting techniques not being convincing were just not working for me as somebody who expects this to be like the BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES.
The sound mixing of this movie with the excessive expositions is just downright bad.
Harvey dents madness was already foreshadowed when he was torturing the Arkham prisoner after he saw Rachel Dawes tag on him. He also told Gordon about working with corrupt cops (the same cops who kidnapped them) and it bit him back in the ass. Moreover he didn't team up with the joker, he left it all to chance.
When do you guys think TENET will come out?
2056
In the year 2067
At earliest, perhaps December. The latest will be the END OF TIME.
@@stephenmcdonagh8677 Lol

I think the argument that there are too many coincidences that need to happen to fit Joker's plan is fair; however, I think the film does a good job at addressing this in the scene where Joker tells Harvey that he isn't a schemer and simply plays with the hands he is dealt. To me, I think that the Joker didn't need everything to happen a certain way, I think that his actions would adapt to whatever it needed to. If Batman saved Rachel instead of Dent, I think he would have adapted his actions to make that work for him. So I don't think he is planning for all these events to happen, rather he is adapting to whatever does happen.
My favorite movie of all time. Christian bale as Batman was a legend. Ben Affleck was a joke. Val Kilmer was also my favorite Batman after Bale. He should’ve came back and did Batman and Robin. Was stupid to choose Clooney. Heath ledger as the joker was phenomenal. So sad he left this world so soon. Literally the best villain in movie history was Heath. Nobody can top that performance. Yes I’ll be 29 on the 30th and the dark knight is my favorite movie of all time. Over all the hundreds probably thousands of movies I’ve seen this is by far the one I can watch over and over again and repeat my favorite lines and just enjoy it from beginning to end. I have a couple more of these type movies that do that to me
People also knocked on Heath Ledger as Joker because of Brokeback Mountain.
Dark knight is and might forever me my favorite movie of all time, just can’t get any better for me
are we surprised that film channels still upload video for TDK after 12 years? No cause It's masterpiece
While I think The Dark Knight is pretty overrated, I still really enjoy watching it
Just some Porg with Internet access literally yes. I love me some of this film but DAMN it’s overrated as hec
I agree it's overrated but it makes a good rewatch with Heath Ledger
I can not choose between Mark Hamill or Heath Ledger to be the best Jokers. Like for Mark, comment for Heath!
I agree about the unresolved Joker scene in the party, but no one seems to see that Batman gets one side of his cape open when he and Rachel are falling and land on the car.
He opens one side of his cape and it acts like a parachute to save them. You even hear the noise like when his cape stiffens and turns into wings.
I love this movie. Seen it multiple times and think of it ALL THE TIME
U wanna know how I got these scars?
After 12 years this is still one of my favorite movies of all time..the story the action right down to the acting was on point..the only flaw was the love triangle but other than that 10/10
It’s pretty cool that my favorite movie was filmed near where I live
The Joker came to the fundraiser to find Harvey Dent. He kept asking people whether they knew where he was. Then, later on, The Joker says in the interrogation sequence that when Batman jumped out the window to save Rachel, he actually thought that Batman WAS Harvey Dent. So he had no reason to hold those people hostage, since his motivation for being there was finding Harvey, who he thought, jumped out the window. So I think there was no reason for The Joker to remain at the fundraiser.
That's what I understood from the movie. Obviously I could be wrong, so if you have a different approach on this, please let me know.

This is my favorite movie of all time 10/10
Best superhero movie ever hands down, just rewatched yesterday and was once again blown away by everybody especially Harvey and Joker
Can anybody agree that the Harvey Dent plot line just feel super rushed?
The Joker in this film is in my top ten favorite villains in movies. He is pure evil, he's scary, you don't like him, and you want him to be beaten. This is what makes the scene in the final fight where the people don't blow each other up so good. The people, the cops, Batman, and the mob were playing Joker's game the whole time and Joker was winning. However, you can see the look of "Oh shoot" on Joker's face when there's no explosion. The people had said "No!", and Joker lost his hold over them.
The Dark Knight is my favorite movie of all time. Heath Ledger carries but every single side character adds so much to each act of the movie. Speaking of acts, my favorite act of all time is the 3rd act in TDK. This movie is so good and my favorite Nolan film by far.
I'd like to see Nolan make an mcu film. maybe doctor strange 3, since he has an eye for good visuals?
Have you imagined an MCU film without CGI? Because thats what he would do or not at all

@@ajandu_marvel Interstellar was shot in a planetarium.
I think this film is a bit overrated. It certainly shouldn't be in the IMDb Top 3, it shouldn't be close honestly. It's great, but I don't think people should celebrate it as much as it has been celebrated. My score is around 9.7 or so.

I see where you are comics from but I understand why it is so loved
Hard agree
I am still disappointed that tenet got delayed again
Well it's not like they have a choice
@@dcmarvelcomicfans9458 yeah that's true
@@TevyaSmolka have you watched the pennyworth TV show
@@dcmarvelcomicfans9458 i watched the pilot and that's about it
@@TevyaSmolka I highly recommend you re-watch it's better written and totally consistent than Gotham. There's five things it does better 1. It captures the era without being over-the-top. 2. Has a Unique Style 3. Follow the Nolan Trilogy of Batman films. 4. Alfred pennyworth 5. Put supporting characters in the spotlight.
The dark night and Batman begins are the best Christian bale Batman movies but Batman begins was my favorite out of the trilogy but I do love the dark knight great video Sean sure do man your channel is awesome Sean 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Same I like Batman begins better
Awesome glad we agree on Batman begins I always liked it better also
Cade Evans it felt like a barman movie vs the dark knight felt like a crime drama. And the fight scenes always bugged me now batman was fighting like dude fought like a brawler
10/10 greatest movie of all time enough said😂
Hey Sean, can you review dark knight rises and then put the Nolan movies review on hold just for the closure of the trilogy. Love these reviews BTW.
I love The Dark knight it is my favorite movie of all time. It made me love movies and it is one of the all time greatest for me.
5. TDK
Many of you would now wanna kill me but I can't speak for The Dark Knight as good as may people . I think, that this film is overrated. It has a Joker that is played in a groundbreaking, way and Ledger's Joker is the best character, Nolan ever made, but in my opinion, that's all of the film, which makes it unique. There are some interesting plot lines about anarchy, chaos and manipulation of people, but it wasn't told good enough to make it into a master piece. We never see, how the characters get from the one place to the other place, which is conscious storytelling, but still makes it surfacive. Also, the third act didn't handle the Harvey-Dent-Character very well and didn't really give us a good conclusion to the battle between the Joker and Batman. Therefore, I would probably rank BB better than TDK.

@DJ Killer Keemstar yeah that was before a third watch. But now, I love TDK
This was on your least favorite superhero movies! Don’t think I forgot
This movie is a masterpiece. In my opinion one of the greatest movies of all time. The brilliance of Joker’s plots, acting performances, it’s all so seamless. I was never bored for a minute and it just is so intense and exhilarating
10/10
I love this movie
You should do a ranking (showdown style) of every animated x-men series
Wolverine and the X-men, X-men evolution and X-men the animated series)
unpopular opinion katie Holmes was a better rachel
+fish bas
1. *LOL*
2. I disagree.
@@thealjohnsonshow2188 that's why i said it is unpopular nothing to laugh at i felt bruce has better chemistry with katie in begins
I have to agree when you talk about the film going from full screen to wide screen. That’s always been very distracting to me and it’s very annoying. But the movies is amazing!
Best film ever made. Period
Sean Chandler Talks About your flaws are very clear and I understand them but I can overlook them a bit for my love of the film
