Thank you for your comment. I am not sure if you can purchase only Outlook since it is part of the Office Suite. For the Office suite you have different options, you can purchase it as a subscription (MS 365 Business apps or MS 365 Personal and Family plan). The other option is purchasing the Office Suite as the traditional package that you can buy at Office Depot, BestBuy or Staples. These are the options that comes to my mind at this moment. Hi Gaby, this tool allows you to set up one Google Workspace account. Additional Google Workspace or other email accounts can be setup as IMAP or Exchange (if they are Microsoft email accounts). Thank you!
Check if the folders are actually on the server. You can verify if the folder is on the server by accessing Outlook on the web. If the folders are on the server, then you should see the folders in Outlook. If you can't see them, I suggest creating a new Outlook profile, I mean configure the Google app (GWSMO) again. Thanks
Thank you so much for this, much appreciated. In my case, I had 2 other non-GW mailboxes already in Outlook prior to GWSMO setup. After carefully installing GWSMO via the given steps, the GW account was successfully set up but the other 2 mailboxes were no longer in Outlook(though their .PST files still exist). In the prompt for 'Create a Google Workspace profile in Microsoft Outlook', I did not check the checkbox for 'Import data from an existing profile'. Is there something I may have overlooked here? Please advise.
GWSMO created a new Outlook profile for the Google Workspace account. Your other two accounts and the data are in the original profile. You can manage to access the old profile and migrate any data if necessary. I suggest configuring your other two accounts within the new profile together with your Google account. Then you can migrate (import the data) from the pst files. At the end, there is nothing to worry about. Your data is accessible in case you want to migrate it or consolidate in a single profile. Hope this give you a better idea of what is actually happening. Thank you.

Hi Ivan, yes, when you use GWSMO, it create a new Outlook profile and give you the option to import the data from the old profile. Btw, the old profile is not deleted and you can access if you need it. Thank you.

Hi Alexo, when you grant permissions during the installation, you are actually granting permissions to the app, but no to the Google. The app need this kind of permission to sync Outlook with your Google account. You won't receive more ads after installing and using the app.

I am looking for Google to host our email. We currently use Outlook 2019, and it is setup as POP3. I would like to continue to use POP3 and not have to use Google Workspace Sync (GWSMO). I don’t need to synchronize calendars or anything else from the local machine to Gmail. Calendars & contacts will only reside on the local machine within Outlook. I only want email to be downloaded to an existing profile on Outlook from Gmail. My question pertains to the Less Secure Apps portion that will eventually be shut down in Autumn 2024 with the implementation of OAuth. Is this something that will affect me if I still want to use POP3 within Outlook? I read that I can still setup Outlook as a POP3 if I have 2-Step verification enabled and I use password generated with App Passwords instead of my regular password.

What does "Import Data from an existing profile" mean? Is this an option to initially import a file from Google contacts and Calendar then it will sync moving forward?
When you use this tool, it will start by creating a new Outlook profile and will download the data from the server, but you may have data that is only available locally in your computer (stored in your original or previous Outlook profile). In this case you can copy this data (including contacts and calendar) to the new Outlook profile. This data will also be synced with the server. Thank you!

It will try to create a new Outlook profile as soon as you run the file/program and will prompt if want to migrate the data from another profile. It depends, I would say that the fastest and best synchronization will happen when both users have the the same service, I mean, if both have MS 365 for example, however, the Google app for MS Outlook should offer a very fast and reliable synchronization as well. It should work almost in real time.
This apps only allow you to add one Google Workspace in the same profile. If you need to add a second Google Workspace account within the same Outlook profile you can add it as IMAP

The use of MS Outlook with your Google Workspace should not affect how your emails are sent. Your emails are actually sent from the Google server regardless of the use of MS Outlook. It should be the same if they are sent from Gmail (webmail interface) or from Outlook. The advantage of using this tool, is that it allows you to sync not only your emails but also calendars and contacts.

Hi Nawaz, you can try to look at the logs or error within the app. If the message is still in the Outbox, you can try to delete it from there and try again. There are some cases where the content of an email could prevent the it to be sent. If you are not able to solve the issue, you can always try to re-install the app again and create a new profile. You can modify Outlook settings to store all or only part of the email history. Within Outlook, click on File > Account Settings > Account Settings and then select the account in question and click on Change. A new window will show up where you can select how much history you want to have locally in you computer. Hope it helps. Thank you.
Hello, I downloaded this to my desktop and it actually did bring over all my 'tasks/reminders' that I created in google. But when I 'unflag' a task in google it is not going away in outlook??? Help!
I am not sure why it didn't work on some; but I deleted all those and created test tasks and they now show up. But the reminders and flags don't sync; but I can live with that.

No, it does not delete anything, however, it create a new Outlook profile. It means that your other accounts and folders are still in your computer but in a different profile. You can still open the old profile by selecting "prompt for a profile to be used". This can be found/change in the Windows Control Panel > Mail (Microsoft Outlook) > Show Profiles. Hi Roham, What I understand is that your other email accounts are not within the new Outlook profile, right? You will need to add/configure your other email accounts within the new Outlook profile. Then all your email accounts will be together within a single profile. Hope it helps.
Hi Steve, that is correct. It only works for Google Workspace (business or schools). If you want to configure your Gmail (free) account you can still use the IMAP configuration. You will need to enable IMAP within Settings in your GMail account. Thanks.

Hmmm ... well it worked ... thanks. But, *I am not impressed at all with Outlook 365.* It took Thunderbird like 2 second sync all data. Outlook 365 is now at 5 min or so and not even half way done so far. *I think I'll be requesting a refund!*

Hola Ezequiel, en ese caso tienes que configurar la cuenta de Gmail usando IMAP. Lamentablemente en este caso solo sincroniza los correos y sus carpetas. Los contactos y calendario no son sincronizados cuando usas IMAP. Muchas gracias por el comentario. Saludos
Hi Dowlet, No. GWSMO isn't supported for macOS. Outlook for Mac doesn't support Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI), which GWSMO needs to communicate with Outlook.

What does "Import Data from an existing profile" mean? Is this an option to initially import a file from Google contacts and Calendar then it will sync moving forward?
When you use this tool, it will start by creating a new Outlook profile and will download the data from the server, but you may have data that is only available locally in your computer (stored in your original or previous Outlook profile). In this case you can copy this data (including contacts and calendar) to the new Outlook profile. This data will also be synced with the server.

Hi Simon, it is so strange. You should be able to download the installation file even is you downloaded before. It will try to create a new Outlook profile as soon as you run the file/program and will prompt if want to migrate the data from another profile. Sorry, I can't suggest anything else :(

It depends, I would say that the fastest and best synchronization will happen when both users have the the same service, I mean, if both have MS 365 for example, however, the Google app for MS Outlook should offer a very fast and reliable synchronization as well. It should work almost in real time.

Does this work for WIndows 11? Thanks. I tried this but after I signed in and authorised the software nothing came up afterwards. Maybe I need to download and set up the .MSI file for Admins? (at the bottom of the page) and not GWSMO? Anything you can do to help is most apprecated.
I haven't tried it with Windows 11, but I don't see any reason why it should not work. I also searched under Google requirement and it does not say anything about it:

Will this be effective also with spam? My emails that I send from workspace to outlook users is marking as spam.
The use of MS Outlook with your Google Workspace should not affect how your emails are sent. Your emails are actually sent from the Google server regardless of the use of MS Outlook. It should be the same if they are sent from Gmail (webmail interface) or from Outlook. The advantage of using this tool, is that it allows you to sync not only your emails but also calendars and contacts.

Hi Alisa, it is possible to sync only one Google Workspace account. It does not work with free Gmail account. If you have a second Google workspace account, then you can add it using IMAP configuration. Hope it helps.

Carlos, it looks like the email I sent through outlook stuck in send box and when I close the windows it give me message that don't close the windows. Can you advise how can I fix this.
Hi Nawaz, you can try to look at the logs or error within the app. If the message is still in the Outbox, you can try to delete it from there and try again. There are some cases where the content of an email could prevent the it to be sent.
If you are not able to solve the issue, you can always try to re-install the app again and create a new profile. Thanks

You can modify Outlook settings to store all or only part of the email history. Within Outlook, click on File > Account Settings > Account Settings and then select the account in question and click on Change. Hello, I downloaded this to my desktop and it actually did bring over all my 'tasks/reminders' that I created in google. But when I 'unflag' a task in google it is not going away in outlook??? Help!
I am not sure why it didn't work on some; but I deleted all those and created test tasks and they now show up. But the reminders and flags don't sync; but I can live with that.

No, it does not delete anything, however, it create a new Outlook profile. It means that your other accounts and folders are still in your computer but in a different profile. You can still open the old profile by selecting "prompt for a profile to be used". This can be found/change in the Windows Control Panel > Mail (Microsoft Outlook) > Show Profiles. Hi Roham, What I understand is that your other email accounts are not within the new Outlook profile, right? You will need to add/configure your other email accounts within the new Outlook profile. Then all your email accounts will be together within a single profile. Hope it helps.

Hmmm ... well it worked ... thanks. But, *I am not impressed at all with Outlook 365.* It took Thunderbird like 2 second sync all data. Outlook 365 is now at 5 min or so and not even half way done so far. *I think I'll be requesting a refund!*
It may depend on the protocol that you are using to configure Thunderbird. It is definitely different to what is used by

Hola Ezequiel, en ese caso tienes que configurar la cuenta de Gmail usando IMAP. Lamentablemente en este caso solo sincroniza los correos y sus carpetas. Los contactos y calendario no son sincronizados cuando usas IMAP. Muchas gracias por el comentario. Saludos

Hi Dowlet, No. GWSMO isn't supported for macOS. Outlook for Mac doesn't support Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI), which GWSMO needs to communicate with Outlook.
