    This is one of the best mycoponics videos on youtube. There are other videos, but they either focus on psycho active mushrooms or they like hearing themselves talk about non-important things too much.

    Watched so many of these videos and felt so overwhelmed, like I needed a hazmat suit n a bunker to stay clean enough, too many fancy substrates options.... So much gratitude for the making this look seriously simplistic enough to make me feel like mayhap, I got this . Thanks~!

    I agree with Olive Page. This video makes more sense for the newbies as I am interested in growing my own mushrooms at home. One of the things I was more concerned with is the overall temperature appropriate to successfully grow the mushrooms since I live in Central Florida and temperatures can get to the high 90's in the summer time. You covered that piece of information [Thanks]. Hopefully I can start growing my mushrooms soon. Thanks for the video.

I just started growing and have white spiderwebby mycelium and I’m super excited after giving up on the whole thing...saw no growth for 2 or 3 weeks then my bags just started to show mycelium. I will keep in the dark until solid white block...not sure how long that will take but I’m learning as I go. This is so much fun! You got a new sub!

      I have one other question. My mushroom container has all those holes, but, the mushroom that I'm growing has exploded out of two of the top holes, and they're barely beginning to come around in many of the other holes. What I wanted to do was wait until as many holes as possible have started pushing out the mushroom, before I move it to fruiting. How long can I keep this mushroom in the dark before I absolutely have to send it to fruiting? Thanks.

    exactly the videos I was hoping to find. Online I saw hundreds of videos requiring high tech machines that measure moisture and provide steam for substrates. I do have 1 question, If i were to use wheat straw, instead of sawdust material (both of which are plentiful here) Do you boil the straw like you did the saw dust?

    Thank you for sharing this! I'm trying to learn how to grow mushrooms like you do, as I come from laboratory background and we used expensive equiptment to sterilize all things. As far as I'm concerned it is not necessery if growing for food. Any cases when someone got sick? Would be interesting to know. I'll check your other videos too, cheers!

    • @Thor_Underdunk_Caballerial
      @Thor_Underdunk_Caballerial 6 лет назад +2

      Steralisation is for the mushrooms sake, not yours. If you have a steralised substrate, the first fungi or bacteria to encounter it will colonise quickly as there is no other competition. If you haven't used good sterile technique, then there's a high chance the substrate will be contaminated with some other, undesirable fungi such as Trichoderma. Once that sets in, you have no chance.

  • @100thMonkeyMushrooms

    We prefer "Through Spawning" (mixing the spawn leads to faster colonization) as for depth...really no limit, as the substrate takes on the form of a vertical column. However, do not exceed 12 inches in diameter...limits air flow to center, contamination likely. Thanks!
