Can't believe I've only just discovered this podcast and absolutely love the way the on field joker and entertainer is choosing to include some really important talking points in the content. This is awesome Joe
Great interview. I am a co-creator of an organization in Norway called Say Something dedicated to fighting discrimination and racism with neuroscience, i.e., dismantling implicit bias and toxic tribalism with cognitive reappraisal, exposure to diverse groups from a young age, and cultivating positive group formation - as well as ditching the idea that races are scientifically valid and adopting the current definition of race, according the Human Genome Project (human beings cannot be subdivided, there is only one race, we are 99.9 percent the same). Thank you for this!
I don’t think that a subconscious and automatic response can be classed as “racist” or “prejudiced”. It’s our executive function which really matters. If my wife automatically feels threatened because a man is in the house unexpectedly and then she subsequently realises that said man is me, her husband, then does that make her sexist? No, clearly not. Because automatic, subconscious feelings are not what we call “opinions” or “beliefs”. I think this distinction is really important
Should a country with a stable society open its borders to hundreds of millions of Africans, who come from countries that have not been able to develop civilised societies? What do you reckon would happen if we introduced, all at once, a flood of people who have not been capable of creating a nation state anyone would here want to live in? Use your rational brain and figure it out.
Interesting interview, loving the show. Gives me something to view and listen to rather than some crazy Russians dropping explosives on me and my mates now thats extreme racism 👍👍#victory4Ukraine

I've always wondered if discriminatory behaviour was learnt or if it had a biological aspect to it 🤔
