I’ve also been in Istanbul 2 months ago and the food was not delicious as I expected but then we want to the more poorer part around the coast and there the food was absolutely delicious. The pastry and the Shawarma and everything was cheaper. Most of the tourists only see the big things in a city like Istanbul but when we visit Morocco because I’m Moroccan we also go to the more local because food and stuff is cheaper and more delicious.
How rich Turkish cuisine is sometimes hard to comprehend if you are Turkish, because you are literally born into it. But videos like this make us see all the different tastes and the experience of eating traditional food from a foreigner's perspective and it is feels good

In Afghanistan, we have something REALLY similar to this. It’s normal-sized dumplings that has beef and some other things in it and when it’s finished, we add this yogurt called moss (NOT THE GREEN MOSS) and some sauce. It’s called Mantu

If you haven’t yet you should try “Döner”. It’s literally meat slices that were sliced from a spinning “log” of meat. It’s usually served with yogurt and some spices. You should also definetely eat it with “Pide” (a type of bread) since it will be served with it too. Oh also you can get “Chicken(Tavuk) Döner” which is similar to a Chicken Burrito but I think the Chicken Döner tastes better.
