Had a 2002 Tahoe and now a 2013. Definite quality deterioration since 2002.
Just changed the driver side handle on my 2013 Chevy Tahoe. I paid $18 for the handle on Amazon. Body shop quoted me $154. Took about an hour. I couldn’t have done it without your video so thank you so very much. Jeff in North Carolina

Ive been watching many videos for handle replacement. Your video is top notch. My passenger, outside door handle opens all the way out. The bolted part is secure however the pull handle comes all the way out. Like its not attached to anything.. Ive ordered a new handle and will replace it when it arrives. I will watch your video again. Thanks.
OMG thank you so much for clearly and concisely making this video. The door handle on my 07' tahoe came off in our hands and we paid $18 for the part on amazon and FREE on labor for DIYing it up ourselves! We watched and rewinded it a few times, so thank you a million times for making this video❤

This video is great - really helped me with the plastic clip inside the door - I might have broken the clip if I had not watched this. After replacing the handle - now I am realizing the handle was only one part of the problem.

Awesome video. 2010 Escalade front passenger door handle popped right off from the outside. Door opened 3 times from inside and now doesnt. Any recommendations on removing the interior panel from inside? Thank you!!
Having hard time tracking down replacement bolts only. Saying only come with full new panel. Possibly know where boltS can be obtained or equivalent? Excellent video/direction!! Thank You!!

So recently the outside door handle went out but it worked from the inside now a couple days later the inside door handle goes out and the door doesnt want to open should i replace just the outside hand or the whole door system?
I did this on my 07' Cadillac escalade passenger side and everything was put back correctly but whenever I go to lock it with the key fob, the door does not open. neither the inside nor outside door handle will open the door. I keep having to unlock it manually with a rod through the window panel. Any ideas on why this is happening?

You can get it at most any auto parts store or online at Amazon or E-Bay
How did you adjust the slack in the new handle?
I'm having trouble popping off the door panel, is there a trick to how you are pulling/bracing the door? I've gotten everything else off exactly as you've shown. It's nice to be doing this with my daughter and showing her that we can do this.
Once you have all of the bolts out you need to pry the bottom of the panel away from the door, the clips have to be pulled out before the panel can be lifted off.

You can remove the door panel with the door closed. Once it is loose lift straight up, being extremely careful not to break anything.
Is the repair for the back door handle similar to the front passenger??
Yes, very similar.
My rear passenger side handle isn't working. Can I use this video for the rear door handle as well? Also, the window will not roll up back there, it will roll down but not up. The driver has to roll it up. Is there something I can fix while I have the door undone to do the handle? Thank you so much for your video!
All of the doors are practically the same, so yes, you can use this video to do the other doors on your vehicle. As for your window issue, it sounds like you need a new window switch. The switches are sold 3 ways,
1) with a graphic (of a window on it)
2) with no graphic
3) with LED lighting and with a graphic

If you have slack you need to reset the rod in the clip at the latch. It should "naturally" fall in to place in the correct position.

What did you use to get the insulation to re-stick
Nothing, it stuck to the metal on its own. If yours will no longer stick you can use a product from 3M called Strip Caulk. It is a long strip of black material that is very sticky and weather resistant. It is commonly referred to by mechanics as "dum dum" because they use it to help fix stupid mistakes they make.
How did you adjust the door handle to work ?
The rod goes in the holder, then you pull down on the rod to remove the slack, but not enough to actuate the handle, then close the locking clip on the rod.

When u just “pop” the yellow clip on the lock rod with no explanation. I’ve been stuck on it for an hour.
I am sorry I didn't reply sooner. The yellow clip opens like a door swinging from the inside of the door towards the outside of the vehicle.

I think I missed something. What was the point of temporarily connecting the window and rolling it down?
So you could shut the door and test the handle. You want the window down in case the door handle is not adjusted properly or something is not correctly connected and it will not open, then you can pull the cable by hand that connects to the inside door handle to open the door and will not be stuck wondering how to get in the vehicle with a shut door that will not open.

Actually, no, it's not a matter of getting locked out - it's more about adjustment if it doesn't open. Took me a sec, but I got there....
