  • Welcome to English in a Minute!
We always try to give you high-quality materials for learning English. So, we hope this episode is “up to snuff.”
AS: Hey, Anna, are you all packed for Martha’s big camping trip?
AM: Yeah, but my gear is really old. It’s not up to snuff for a big camping adventure.
AS: I wouldn’t worry. Martha’s idea of camping is very comfortable. I’m pretty sure we are “camping” in modern cabins.
AM: So, it’s not camping adventure at all! Is it?
If something is “up to snuff,” it meets an acceptable standard. It is as good as it needs to be. We often use the expression in the negative, to describe something that is not up to snuff.
