Great video i agree with you. The absolute best is still Canibal Holokahust for me. It was realistic maybe a bit too much, but still carried its message well. Its a very interesting viewpoint of our "civilized" society and human nature in general. I also loved Bone Tomahawk even if it was about stereotipical nonexistent cannibals and the crituque of bad masculinity, it still felt a complete story when i wached it. Green Inferno however was just fun to watch and thats it. After the plane crash it felt too scripted and ironic, like it ment to be parody or something i could not take it seriously. I mean if a film has that much gore in it you can't expect much more from it than grotesque entertainmet. It took the time from building up any meaningful message. I felt absolutely nothing for the characters even hate, as you said they never had any motivation or goal, they were just selfish sjw activists. I really like the video game as well Green Hell.
Watched this in 2022 on Netflix, Great Horror Movie. I don't really care about marketing when it comes to movies. Btw Great video, Great points. The movie does try to criticize full of shit millennials that doesn't stand for anything, but I don't think it centers too much on that. This horror movie needs people to die, they were chosen. It also depicts the cannibal tribe, the corporations fighting for the land, the militia, ethnocentrism and more. It shows the evil in each but nothing lingers for the audience to think about these things seriously. So in that way I guess it says nothing. But in my humble opinion, when shit hits the fan it does say horror. The main focus is the horror. From the moment of the plane crash, everything was done from well from a horror stand point, to me anyways. Which is rare these days or rare in horror over that past decade. This actually reminds another realistic gore horror, Hostel. Eli Roth is very good at grabbing your focus and then terrifying you.
I completely disagree with your view. I do think that the film has a message and that it shows us the various facettes of human evil regardless of one's ethnicity and at the same time is a fun Horror Movie that one could have watched at a grindhouse. Nevertheless, thanks for taking the time to analyse the film instead of doing the stupid "we good, cause we woke" "film bad, cause racism".
It had a really cool poster that l got for free. Also l dont think you need to be a vegan to appreciate the horrid cruelty of the meat industry.
