This series is one of the few times in life that you get way more than you pay for. I have the 13/16/18/24 combo in oxblood, and that kit slaps! The most obvious thing in this video is that the kicks all sound 2 inches bigger than they actually are. Amazing drums and a total sleeper kit.
I have the exact configuration and finish and feel the same way completely. I paired up a dw design black nickel over black snare with it and the combo just rocks
I'm going to get a double kick kit with 10", 12", 13" racks and 16", 18" floors. Haven't decided on the kick yet, most likely 20" so I don't have to sit really high. Great vid!
I think that would work great for jazz. I'm still having a little trouble getting them Toons low in thumpy. But when I turn them high and jazzy there really sing..
"Bop" in my mind means Bop, jam out, but chill and I definitely just received my kit last week, evans hydraulic glass on toms. Tuned mid-low and nice, loving it
Thanks so much for making this. I bought this kit with my dad and I enjoy showing him the variety the kit offers in the size ranges. We got ours on clearance from drum center of p smith it was the 24 bass drum in walnut with original hoops This was extremely well made. I watched it a few times
You are welcome....thank you for supporting small, independent drum shops...although I do wish you got it from us ; ) I am glad your Dad is enjoying is kit. We have some cool options coming soon for the PDP Concept Classic. Stay tuned.
Had a 24” bass on my first kit, was pretty boomy, decided to go with a 22” for my next kit. 22” is pretty much the standard size for most rock applications…..
The important thing here is the 14 inche depth. Longer depth gives you more attack but lesser bottom end. Old drum kits in the 50s and 60s got it right.
Obviously the 26” sounds the best. I never liked the way the 26” or 24” felt, but love their sounds. The heads were always too “floppy”, in my opinion.
Correct. I thought the same thing. I’ve played 20’s and 22’s for years and the 20’s when tuned right with minimal damping have a better thump to my ear.
@@pixelpusher8986 I don't know why people think the 22 is much better volume wise too. I got a 20 x 10 that can match a 22 x 20 in the volume department easy.

Well said . . .completely agree

That 20 and 24 kicks ass
Agree I really like the 20, then not so much the 22, and the 24 is good again. Not sure why.
I never thought i’d like the 26” so much!
I’m sold on the Concept Maple Classics! I’m going with the 26” kick!
22 and 26 stand out
Yup! Those are my favorites too
I like the 24. This is a great video, since I'm trying to decide which to get.
My Pdp drums shipped today and I couldn’t be more excited! Thanks guys! 😁
These kits are awesome, I liked the 24 the best
I was surprised how much I liked it
Great short comparison 🤘🏼
I’m selfish. I want them all.

I bought the Bop and these drums are fantastic !!! They just sound so perfect. First time ever I've felt that way about a kit. Thank you PDP.
Mine comes tomorrow!
Do you use them for jazz, or other genres? I'm considering one myself.

The 26 is mine.! ❤
Very happy with my 2022 PDP Concept Maple kit. I would imagine these are also great. The classic look isn’t for me but they look nice!!

What heads are using and what muffling? Sounds great

18" and 20" sounced close, 22" clearly had more resonance. Would have been nice if we were told if there were any dampening put in the kicks
I’d get the 18 or the 20
I don’t think they did the 20 justice with that tuning. You can tune a 20 lower than that for more thump

22 sounds best , but 18 is my favorite
20 and 24
i prefer the smaller bass drums controlled and focused sound. not a fan of large bass drums. 22 is biggest size i like.
What are the depths of the bass drums here?
14x18, 14x20, 16x22, 14x24, 14x26
@@cymbalfusion Nice! The 22x16" is my favourite here - probably my favourite bass drum size in general.
26" best
If you play a kick smaller than a 24" you should quit drumming and play another instrument such as the ukulele.
