It's changed so much since I left in 1985. As a boy in the early 70s I remember the indoor arcade on the bus station side. When did that go ?. I will visit again when the trains start running again at the end of next year 😀
The trains are now not starting until summer 2024, 6 months later than planned. I am not surprised, the workers stand around doing absolutely nothing half the time and I mean that literally but hey ho the government still pay up
New entrepreneurs need to make them selves aware and sell stuff tye community needs and wants dog collars horse wear dog food ect sublet somone is clever enough to know what the community needs and wants
Not the worst Market i've seen ( functional might best describe it) But a pretty characterless place ( And that's no reflection on the People) But i think n the 60's when i assume the 'Mines' & u might have had other industries were in full operation,&people were probably full of positive Vibes! But yrs of being pretty much ignored ( is Newcastle the closest Largest City?) and it appears it's been stuck in 'Limbo'. On a more positive noten.i ,hink this was the area where the ' 'Charlton' family came from? Two greats of the game!
I remember being in Ashington! My gran married "Geordie" in the 70's. I had my holiday in Ashington for many years! Went to the local swimming pool! Fell in the paddling pool! Ashington and Ellington social club!
Such a shame. I remember going to the tuesday market as a kid and it would be jam packed, and go stretch the whole way around portland park.
It is a shame but its still going
It is changed so much since I left in 1973

Useful. Doesn't compare too well with Cramlington and the shops there, but if you live on the edge of Ashington there's some good scenery.

You passed the bird at the burger van when you passed Wilko the first time
Well the council did well planning that out didn't they 😂😂😂
Can you please share the location ?
Ashington, Northumberland
wish you had gone a little but further onto the bridge next to Wilko would have seen the new Sweet Shop on the Bridge next to council
I will be making a video of that side soon
