The thing that really sucks about ocd is that a lot of times, you can tell how "crazy" your obsessions are, but that doesn't stop you from feeling them. Like you can tell, that A doesn't equal B, but your monkey brain is so insistent you have no choice but to go along with it. I've been dealing with ocd and panic disorder for 7-ish years and only got into game grumps videos just recently but this means a lot to hear.
I just got diagnosed with OCD after unknowingly struggling with it for 12-ish years. It’s crazy how much I’ve always related to this looking back. Thanks for posting this. I needed to hear it again.
I remember listening to this story when the episode came out, and I thought to myself that I related to Dan's struggles. I didn't really think much of it cuz i couldn't be bothered thinking I could have OCD. Cut to today and I now notice so many OCD-like behaviours in my everyday that I'm actually gonna start taking it seriously. Here's hoping I can learn to manage it just like he did!
I just found out two nights ago that I have ocd. I have had intrusive thoughts and compulsions since I was a young kid but its always been incredibly minor before now. Knowing it is ocd has helped but I have a long way to go before I get my life back to what it was before the spiral. For just a few months i was happier than I had ever been and now Im in a hell different from the last. and covid is NOT helping.
I am here for the same reason you are - I needed to hear somebody talk about this again. The only thing that keeps me going is that if I've beat it once, I can beat it again. And that goes for you too.

as someone who has unknowingly been struggling with ocd for 6 or more years, and finally just figured it out, this video is beacon of hope.
