If she is not cast as Megara in the Hercules remake I will RIOT. She has everything: low voice, blue-greenish eyes, sharp features and proven skill to play bitchy yet likeable characters.
She also resembled the cartoon version.

And she had a deeper darker tone from singing to talking while I find that Ariana Grande forces a darker tone
But movie producers are about who is the more popular or with more social media presence. Ex: Actress Sophie Turner was chosen over a more acclaimed Saoirse Ronan for X-Men Jean Grey role because of Turner's popularity and huge Instagram following. Its not about who could suit the role better but its about who can bring more people to the theatre and give them a huge box office.
We ALL agree she is a talented , versatile and underrated singer.

Gillies voice is more pleasant. Her upper chest belting never sounds shouty like Gaga's does at times but it's always bright and resonant. Seems to have a better well rounded tone and clean technique that's why she never sounds shouty. Not hate on Lady Gaga she is a good and amazing singer but technically Gillies is better.

She was my favorite on Victorious, not just bc of her character but her voice was my favorite, You Don’t Know Me is one of my favorite Victorious songs (after Take A Hint)
Facts
Her upper belts sound very soprano-like, but her mid-belts and lower register sound very much like a mezzo-soprano! Her voice sound like it would have came from the 80's, 70's, or even the late 60's! I actually have never heard of her before, but her tone is really beautiful! Thank you for producing another great video for your fans! 👍
Just the fact that she can sing anything and it always sounds amazing, she covers songs and sings them better than the actual singers. She's just so incredible, I love her so much.
Her voice is effortlessly beautiful. I love how she embraces the natural strengths of her voice; and she has retained her technique and still delivers emotive vocals!
I'm still SHOOKETHED by her calling out all the "cursive singing" that's going on and even giving it a more fitting name "Seal Singing".
I adored her voice ever since I watched her cover of "Somewhere Only We Know" with Max.
All the main ladies from "Victorious" have admirable vocal talent, including Victoria Justice but for some reason, it became trendy for people to hate on her.
The "I Think We All" moment was cute but people took things too far and started calling her a "flop" and making fun of her career's trajectory in comparison with her costar(s).

@@Das644 I mean, sure, the show was all about her but all the other vocalists stole the show from her. She's not a bad singer by any means, but she just wasnt as impressive as everyone else.
I've been a huge Liz Gillies fan for years, and it's a shame how underrated she is compared to someone like Ariana. Her range and the raw emotion in her voice is truly incredible. I'm glad that she's finally starting to get more recognition with her role on Dynasty.
She's a very versatile singer. She reminds me of Gaga to be honest.

I think Ariana was just more advertised than Liz from the start, when she got the first record deal. She is telented but Liz is just... Liz! Soulful, jazzy and so rock n roll, man I like this gal! So authentic without trying to pretend anything!
Ariana Grande was just willing to do what the record company told her. She would obviously prefer to sing something closer to R&B.
Liz has told that she broke her deal with Sony because they wanted to turn her into the new Avril Lavigne.
@lacrarte I didn't know that. This explains why Liz was not advertised later after the show. It seems the industry abandon her. She kept her musical quality though. Ariana is great but way more pop and commercial than she used to be...

Liz’s upper belts are so good that one might think she’s a soprano(but she’s actually a mezzo for those who do think so, cuz her lows are stronger than that of the average soprano, and her voice is slightly heavier, and she doesn’t prefer singing high)
Her musicality hones her tonal versatility and comfort in a LOT of genres, woah I am in awe 😦 wish Liz would release an album showcasing her different approaches.

About her voice, she had much of a larger volume output when she performed with Ariana, a soprano live. Her lows are way too projected, supported and full to be of a soprano. Also her tessitura lies between F3 or even lower to a D5. That’s the mezzo territory. Her tone is also that of a darker kind, so maybe a lyric mezzo I would say
